I did not say we had the best player in semo area, which is how you are acting. I said one of the best.That could be one out of 15 or 20, not the best. Try not to have a heart attack over that statement. Kennett has several players who take turns leading the team in points on different nights, not just one guy. Kennett plays TEAM BALL also. of course scc has the best player in semo area ,if not the state. So do not let your heart rate get to high, sikeston and scc our the two best teams in the state. I even think sikeston can beat scc because of their bench. kennett does have one of the best players in semo area, in my opinion. If you do not agree then you are entitled to your opinion. FYI everyone who follows kennett knows who i'm talking about.

No where in that question did it state that I was asking or implying that you said that you had the best player in the area. It was a simple question of who you were talking about being ONE of the best players in SEMO area. Geez I hope you arent having a heart attack but responding.

And as far as the statement of Kennett has several players that could lead Kennett in scoring, I will have to disagree with you on that. Maybe 2-3 players may lead the scoring on any given night but not several.

But you are correct...per class SCC, Bernie, IMO Charleston, Sikeston, and Cape are some of the best teams in the area. SCC, Bernie, and Sikeston probably have the easiest road to the final 4 given their talent level. I do not know much abuot Class 3a. As for Cape, no disrespect, but they have the toughest road to the final 4. I do not like Cape when we play them but I will cheer for anyone in SEMO to get to the next level

BuckMajor, I will agree with people saying he is one of the best players in SEMO. But if we had to state, is Fred Garmon one of the best 15-20 basketball players in SEMO? I would have to say, NO. To be honest, I dont think he'd start on Sikeston or Cape's team. He is a good player though! Just not in the 15-20. I think he is in the top 30 though.

Fred Garmon is one of the TOP players in the Semo area, someone tell me something he can't do! He's good, just because the team he plays on isn't undefeated doesn't mean he's good!

Lilbigboy, I guess you do not realize that Sikeston did play Kennett already this year. I did go down to the game in Kennett. He is a good player. As Buckmajor pointed out there was 19 players i listed. And I stated that I would take those 19 players over him. Never said he wasnt a good player! I am done with this topic.

Because if he could make Otto look like a fool, then he should be an All-American.

just throwing this out there FRED GARMON , ranks #5 in the state class 3-A in steals at 3.5 per game with a total of 70 so far,#3 in assists with 5.7 per game and a total of 113 and #5 in charges taken with 12 and averages 15.4 per game. I am pretty sure that qualifies him as one of the best in the area. I will bet no one else on your list ranks that high in the state in their class. Like i said ,backing fred garmon will never make me look stupid.His all around stats speak for themself, bleacherbum. He is a great all around player.

If he was like 6'2" he MIGHT start for cape or sikeston. But at 5'11" he wouldn't beat out curtis branch and as for sikeston, well how did he do against them. His 3.4 gps and 17 act score don't go together, with that gps he should be making at least a 22. What's going on in that school down there at kennett haha grade fudging.

True, some people dont try in school and get 28's on their act, and some people give it all they can but are just terrible test takers.. Can't judge someones intelligence over a gpa or act score

SCC fans are the loyal sort who always go to cheer their team on. For that reason alone, I would show up a bit early.

Autocorrect fail on that "gpa" I mean it is a little odd to have that high of a gpa and that low of an act score, even if he is a bad test taker wouldn't that show up on his finals and lower his gpa. Then again we do have people at central who take the easiest slack off classes and electives just so they're gpa and class rank look good.

Id get their for plenty of the jv game so you get a good spot. Sorry but if kennett had any problem with sikestons tempo and endurance then you wont have much luck with scc either.

Okay, I see the stats listed; but, that begs the question: how many coaches actually go to Maxpreps and enter stats? I would assume that very few actually take the time to do this; if they won't take a few minutes following a game to phone in their game scores to the television stations, I doubt many enter stats on Maxpreps.

@dog2167 I think Bernie and Portageville would diagree with you saying Bernie has an easy walk through their districts, considering they are in the same district.

I am by no means a Kennett, nor Sikeston, nor SCC fan, and have seen Garmon play a ton over the past couple years and there's no way he's one of the top 30 players in the state. As a matter of fact, if you told me to pick guys I'd want for my team, of the kids from Kennett, I'd take Shavers and Caruthers before Garmon. Shavers is a MUCH better defender, and unlike Garmon, understands he can't shoot from outside and doesn't. And Caruthers is also a better defender, is bigger, and a better shooter.

As a big Kennett fan, I wish we'd stay with them, but I believe we'll lose by around 20.. Can't wait to see Otto play. Maybe he'll put on a nice show for us.

Let me say one more thing though I do agree he isn't one of the top 30 in the state. But he is the best player on Kennetts team.

I simply don't agree that he's a better shooter than Caruthers. And I don't think he's near the defender, especially on the ball, that Shavers is.

kennett has several good players that will not get any respect because they do not play for sikeston or scc because that is the majority of what is on this forum. If we take care of our district tnmt that is all that will matter.

they are both pretty good, i never said anything about him being a top ten player, actually just said one of the best in no certain order. that was everyone else chiming in on the subject. and never acted like cape people just said he was a good player and everyone had to blow it out of propertion like they always do. If i said one of the sikeston players was one of the best nothing would have been said about it. Yes they have been throttled a couple of times, hopefully that will make them better in the near future.

I wish we would have kennett on our schedule, it would probably be an interesting game.

Porter does not get in foul trouble. Very seldom gets over 2 fouls a game. I do not ever remember him fouling out of a game. Someone else help out on this, have you seen Otto get in foul trouble?

He probably doesn't, that was just wishful thinking on my part. I do not think kennett will win, I do think they might be able to keep it close if they play like they have recently. We will see how they play today against jackson.

SCC is a different animal....just like Sikeston is a different animal. Kennett's forte is their quickness and that will be negated by SCC, just as it was against Sikeston.

The Kennett guards must have a great game(hit free throws), and limit SCC's possessions with the ball to keep this game close.

I'm not sure if Kennett's guards will be patient enough to try this in the atmosphere they will be playing in. If the game is played at fast pace, I say SCC by +20.

Traditionally, I'm not a big score comparing guy but this one is kind of glaring. Scott Central beat Jackson by 40 and Kennett beat Jackson by 8. Don't expect this to be too much of a game.

According to the radio broadcaster from 105.5, Kennett did no wrong in the game and had bad calls against them all night. Also Otto Porter traveled, carried, walked, whatever you wanna call it. Not very professional if you ask me. I understand he was pulling for Kennett but to act like that on the radio is crazy. He was also arguing with a fan from SCC LIVE on the air.

If you'll notice, it's usually the terrible two doing most of the complaining. You know who I mean. Hats off to SCC. Elite program and deserving of the number one ranking.
