High School Basketball Forum: PARHAM and CASSEL are the best two defensive guards in SEMO

Posted by BLACK MAMBA24 on Mon, Dec 12, 2011, at 3:03 PM:

I think Charleston has the best two defensive guards in the area...they took on what looked to be the best offensive guards in the area and held them in check...in RUFFIN and JAMISON

    SIKESTON (71) -- Vashawn Ruffin 17, J.T. Jones 16, Terry Jamison 15, Kil'Ron Coleman 9, Markeith Bratcher 7, Keldon Warfield 5, Caleb McGee 2. FG 25, FT 9-15, F 21. (3-pointers: Ruffin 3, Coleman 1. Fouled out: none).

17 for Ruffin and 15 for Jamison wouldn't be what I would call keeping them in check - nice try.

  • Haha exactly yah yah, those are the numbers they normally put up. So I guess parham and cassel are just about like everyone else.

  • i think the best defensive gaurd is Jordan Reddin of ND from watching the semo confrence tournament

  • I like it when people try to stir the pot. BB material.

  • I recall Ruffin had 22 vs ND... He didn't have 22 Friday night, 17 is not 22 so how is Reddin better defensively? PARHAM can lock down & score but his calling card I'd defense and he plays that real dang good... He also scored 23 too so yea I'd say he was best player on floor... Tucker avg around 24 ppg against the early schedule I'd say he must be impressive!!

  • 17 is not exactly being held in check..that was ignorant..im a sikeston grad and in our game against dame Reddin impressed the heck out of me..not offensively but defensivly..i dont think youve ever seen the guy play and it takes a lot for me to say ND has a better defensive gaurd than anyone on our team being that ND is the team i hate the MOST

Right BM24 is just full of crap an trying to get a high on thread.Jamison AND Ruffin are the best combo.I recall that Cassell couldnt keep up with Jamison in the CHS game last year an was grabbing on the mans jersey an got rocked a couple times by falling.....Now provided that Jan 6 is a new day we will see u eat those words as u should be doing now.TRY again. With the taste of blue blood in their mouth.Should be a great one.

  • I've found no evidence of football players from Charleston on ASU's roster in the mid 90's. What number did you wear in high school? What position did you play?

He played fuse ball at ASU.I will rest my case BM24 after this comment,Sikeston plays zone u play man to man right.I do believe that all Jamison points came on drives OR AND1 because oooops somebody couldnt hold him.He blew by Parham so tough Farmewr took him out of the game from pure embarrassment. In the zone if someone doesnt collapse on defense then yes u can penatrate. But that didnt happen on a weak Cassel/ Parham one on one with a Strong Ruffin/Jamison.Ruffin was all over three two drive pull up.So until Jan u can say what u will and continue like this was the only game Charleston could shine at.They played We played CHS won.KUDOS.and a HOT DOG for YOU

  • Agreed, stlfan...you CAN NOT overlook ANYONE in this area. Perryville is MUCH improved. I fully expect them to have 20 wins this year.
