SCC vs Drexel with SCC taking the state title

Salisbury vs Billings (Although I'm pulling for Hayti) with Salsibury winning the title

Charleston vs Hogan Prep this is the hardest game to pick a winner for me. I'm going to say Hogan Prep (Although I'm rooting for Charleston to win it all)

Last night, I watched the replay of the Charleston-Hogan Prep semifinal game from last year. Charleston did not play very well and it was not because of their opponent; they just simply didn't play smart on the defensive side and gave up too many easy buckets.

If Charleston brings their A-game to CoMo, they'll be the state champion no matter what the other team brings. Problem is, Charleston has only brought their A-game to a couple of games since the loss to Cape Central.

Scott County Central with another Nail Biter, 78-48 over Glasgow!!! Wow!

chs 58-56 final

Charleston was 3-20 from beyond the arc....worst shooting game of the year

Mt Vernon shot over 50% from the field; 50% from beyond the arc; 80% from the charity stripe....Charleston outrebounded them by 3....Mt Vernon could not have played much better than they did

Jays were very fortunate to win this one.

We did not play well but still found a way to win.Good teams do that.Way to hang in there.GO JAYS|||

Pretty exciting game, for sure. Tough call at the end, but definitely not a bad one.

Hogan Prep defeated Lutheran North 68-64. So they will defend their title against Charleston on Saturday. Good luck Jays!

Jays just find ways to finish. My money's on Tucker to go out in a blaze of three's!!!

Birdfan is right: Charleston lost to Hogan last year because they did not get back on defense in the first half. If they can do that and block out underneath, they have a very good shot.

Hogan played solid defense against Lutheran North and got some key second chance points after offensive rebounds. They earned the victory. They were helped by a rare off night for Virdure. He didn't seem to have much bounce in his legs for some reason. James Mitchell gave them a chance with a strong game.

Wainwright certainly delivered for Hogan. I think it was Mason who did a good job hassling Virdure.

If Charleston makes Hogan work for its baskets, it can win this thing.

Nice Write up "Uncle Grub".

Tucker isn't really a 3-point marskman. He's more of a 'you can't stop me' from slashing to the goal type. If he doesn't score, he gets to the line. He shoots a very high percentage from the charity stripe.

I agree, yah-yah. He's a very streaky shooter from beyond the arc; when he gets hot, he can really light it up. The good thing is, he knows himself well enough to know when he's "on" and when he's "off"; when he's "off", that's when he starts the penetration to get to the line. Many 3-point shooters have a tendency to shoot their team right out of a game when they're not "on"....that's the value of a Greg Tucker, he knows himself well enough to adapt.
