I think the extra day will benefit teams that can actually make it to a gym to practice. Teams unable to practice due to dangerous conditions will not benefit.

Sounds simplistic, but I would think that schools that are mostly rural are at a bigger disadvantage during snow days. Harder to get their players to practice on snow days.
