What an exciting week last week was right folks!? Lots of great games took place last week and a ton more will happen this week as well. Some classes will wrap up the regular season this week. It seems hard to believe that districts is just a week away for some. We will have some rivalry games this week, some great conference games, even some games that could decide the winner of SEMO Conference and others. There will be no shortage of excitement to say this least. Charleston was able to pull out a win last week over Jackson in our Game Of The Week. It was an outstanding game and has even caused a bit of a stir afterwards. Once again a big shout out thank you to Preacher Man Fan for his great "Key Games" thread. Lots of great information can be found there as shown with the record breaking number of posts last week! So check that out throughout the week for games, times, scores, and discussion. TFA with NMCC still missing so many players that game just might not be as good as some of the others I selected. The first match-up may have been better. Hope I'm wrong. But I'm ready to see a full strength NMCC team again!

Im not a Sikeston historian and dont really care to be lol. I may be way off but I have to live with being wrong. Should be a good game if our guys can stay out of foul trouble. They've had a hard time of doing that as of late.

-- Posted by cirithungol17 on Mon, Feb 17, 2014, at 8:57 PM
Buck...names of nmcc players out for season & ones out til maybe districts. Were these same ones out against Jackson? If so, looks like nmcc fared pretty well without them in playing Jackson down to the wire in 7 point loss.
-- Posted by indian73 on Mon, Feb 17, 2014, at 9:09 PM
Yes it is Indian! I know they were without 4, possibly 5 depending on his release from a concussion. But that's a good point! Hopefully they've found a good line-up.
-- Posted by BuckMajor on Mon, Feb 17, 2014, at 9:14 PM
Caruthersville is 19-2 as of now, we play Kennett on Tuesday before we meet up to play you guys. District looks like Charleston's to lose but any of the top 3 in the district could have a chance to come out on top..but as of now the Jays are in control of it. I think we play Doniphan Saturday in the opening round...

Oh my bad! TJ Clark (starter), Harvey Brown (Bench), Dre Wilson (Bench, also only senior, out for year, will be the first time I've ever seen NMCC not have a basketball senior representative for senior night), Chris Farr (Bench, broken hand, will probably be out rest of year), Vontre Jones (concussion)

I'm changing my pick on that game too Buck to Caruthersville over Kennett. Without Mitchell I don't think they will beat the Tigers.

I expect we will see a lot of that. Perfectly fine though! That's part of the game. Sad, but part of the game nevertheless.

-- Posted by cms14 on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 8:34 AM
Buck you shouldn't allow that kind of unfair to the rest of us who picked c ville to begin with
-- Posted by yaeger on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 8:35 AM
I was thinking the same thing haha, because I was going to pick Caruthersville to begin with. The reason people can change is because in the original Pick'em that Semoball did you could go and edit and change your picks right until the start of game time. Since you can't go back and edit posts, I allow changes to be made because the old format did. But I always take suggestions and it is something I will take into consideration for football season.

I picked kennett over Cville and I'm not lobbying to change but will say, Cville will win this game now. Without Mitchell, may not even be all that close. I already picked Jackson to beat Kennett even with Mitchell, and I'm a kennett fan. Sick about loss of Mitchell. Good luck to him and the Indians. Play hard. Never know what can happen if you come together.
-- Posted by bball79 on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 12:22 PM
I fail to see how it is unfair to those who picked Caruthersville originally if some of us change our picks.
-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 1:33 PM
OK preach if it were a bet say for money and you picked let's say the sea hawks and lynch got hurt do you think that you would be able to change your pick NOPE I see that you picked Kennett but I'm sure you're going with c ville now
-- Posted by yaeger on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 1:40 PM
Oh never mind you did
-- Posted by yaeger on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 1:43 PM
I think as long as the pick is officially decided before deadline it should be fine. I change my NCAA Tourney picks up until the deadline if I read about an injury or matchup issue. A lot of the time I wish I would have stuck with my gut - but the NCAA Tourney is a crapshoot, anyway. I guess it all depends on when a pick is officially 'locked in'.
-- Posted by yah-yah on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 1:58 PM
I too would like to pick Cville over Kennett now
-- Posted by BleedRedBlack on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 2:37 PM
Yes perfectly fine to change pick until game time deadline. Like yah-yah stated several pick'em games allow that and that is pretty standard procedure.
-- Posted by BuckMajor on Tue, Feb 18, 2014, at 2:49 PM
Yeah that is a good point yah-yah I guess I would've done the same
