Ive seen lately in the papers and on the news a lot about basketball players in the area scoring their 1000th career point. Isn't varsity points all that is counted towards this milestone? Lane Below was recognized for his 1600th career point, Charlie Montgomery scored his 1000th career point. This is awesome and congrats to them, but is this a typo on the write up? Is it suppose to be 1000th etc. VARSITY points?
I just figured if it was career points (both JV and Varsity) there would be more kids both reaching and well exceeding this milestone.

Those are VARSITY points. JV points do not count.

That is what I thought, however often one article will state varsity points and another will state career points.

Yeah, I agree it's extremely misleading with the different wording between career and varsity points.

Most times the word career is referring to your varsity career. But It can be misleading. JV should not be counted.

Saw a tweet by SD sports that Damion Tipler of EP got his 1000th varsity point yesterday in district game vs nmcc.

Where do you find those stats,Cortez dobbins of malden has been on varsity since his freshman year and scores a ton so he has to be getting close.

Dobbins has around 600 points this season, so I'd say its pretty safe to say he has around 1,000 varsity points if he's played varsity as long as you say he has. He's prolly already passed it.

Cortez dobbins has surpassed his 1000th point and is probably at about 1500 now I would say.

Jordon Pavy from risco scored 698 points this year and got 1786 for his varsity career!
