I hope to attend a basketball game every night this week. Factors out of my control may prevent me from attending a basketball game every night this week.
I plan on attending the Notre Dame / Dexter game Monday, the Bernie / Hayti game Tuesday, the Scott County Central / Sikeston game Wednesday, the Bernie / Advance game Thursday, TBA Friday, the Risco / Marquand game Saturday, and the Bloomfield / Doniphan game Saturday.
The game of the week this week is Scott County Central vs. Sikeston at the Show Me Center.
I hope to see scores posted as the week progresses. I would love to see scores from the OFC Tournament.
Hopefully, we will get Crader it Live Wednesday at the Show Me Center.
I'm curious if there is a makeup date for the Jackson / Webster Groves game? This could be my only opportunity to see Webster Groves and the Jackson gymnasium this season. Does anyone know the answer to this question?
-- Posted by drawmules on Sun, Feb 7, 2010, at 2:07 AM
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch. Approximately four inches of snow are expected on Monday.
-- Posted by drawmules on Sun, Feb 7, 2010, at 3:40 AM
Crader have you checked your email lately?
Note: I will be online Sunday afternoon during the Super Bowl if anyone wants to discuss the game. I will probably discuss the game on the Super Bowl forum. I remain optimistic the motel I am staying at tonight will have good WiFi. I would love to see others join the discussion.
The Minnesota / New Orleans forum thread I started two weeks ago was boring because I talked to myself for four hours about the game.
Join me on the professional sports forums tonight. Kickoff is 5:25 p.m.

Oak Ridge plays St vincent at home sat at 1:00.didn't know if the risco marquand game was at marquand. you could kill two birds with one stone. really a treat to go to marquand gym. A gym your grandpa would remember playing in. Smaller than leopold.

The two games I plan on attending on Saturday are at Three Rivers Community College. Thanks for the info Oak Ridge fan. Crader where are you? You need to check your email.

If there is a Notre Dame / Dexter game Monday I will not attend the game. I am stationed at a motel in Cape Girardeau awaiting the snow storm. If the game is cancelled please post. I would love to hear updates if the game is played tonight. I would also love to hear the makeup date for the game if the game is postponed AGAIN.
-- Posted by drawmules on Mon, Feb 8, 2010, at 12:42 PM
Dexter-Notre Dame game has been postponed tonite. No make-up date has been set. Confirmed by Corey Mouser, A.D. at Dexter.

Dexter v. ND will be made up next Monday, the 15th.

I'm searching for a game to attend on Tuesday.
Does anyone know if the Kennett / Gosnell game has been postponed? The Malden / Clarkton game? The Bernie / Hayti game?
-- Posted by drawmules on Tue, Feb 9, 2010, at 11:51 AM
It looks like they may get the ND v. Dexter game scheduled for tomorrow night, instead of Monday. I will update when I hear for sure.
-- Posted by Dogs n Cats on Tue, Feb 9, 2010, at 1:08 PM
Bloomfield @ Oran cancelled
-- Posted by Larry Doby on Tue, Feb 9, 2010, at 1:24 PM
The Bernie / Hayti game will be played on Wednesday.
Any word on the Kennett / Gosnell game?
I still plan on attending the Scott County Central / Sikeston game. I will likely have at least two extra tickets because some of the people I planned on attending the Scott County Central / Sikeston game with will likely attend the Bernie / Hayti game. If anyone needs two tickets let me know.
-- Posted by drawmules on Tue, Feb 9, 2010, at 1:49 PM
If your game was cancelled Tuesday and you think it's too cold to make the drive to another game follow the Jackson / Cape Central game on Cover It Live tonight.
Does anyone need extra tickets to the Scott County Central / Sikeston game? LOL I think last year would have been a better year to have extra tickets.

Any thoughts on the Advance / Woodlang game? Advance won the game 75-74. I was surprised when I saw this score.

Dexter is making up the Bell City game tonight, so it looks like the Notre Dame game will have to wait until Monday.

I would greatly appreciate updates from the Hayti / Bernie game tonight.

Ok. I believe this will be the last change. Dexter will host Notre Dame Saturday at 6:30

I will alter my schedule so I can attend the Dexter / Notre Dame game Saturday.
-- Posted by drawmules on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 6:14 PM
If anyone still believes anything I say after four changes, there's been another change. Due to repairs being made on the walking track in the new Dexter gym, the game will be played in the old gym on Saturday. JV starts at 4, so Varsity should be about 5:30. If there are any further changes, I won't post because I would not believe me either.
-- Posted by Dogs n Cats on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 6:38 PM
Why would the walking track need repaired? It's new.

I spoke with Coach Botch after the Notre Dame game. He was watching a replay and commenting that the Mules had been in a shooting slump, had plenty of shots against the Bulldgos that just didn't go and a couple of games before that. He hoped they would break out soon, looks like they did. Look for Bernie to run the table. It's amazing how playing teams that are better will show players what kind of effort it takes to get to that next level. Looks like it also might have helped SCC somewhat!

notre dame vs. dexter game has been set for this sat. JV starts @ 4:00. why is it being played in the old gym? because dexter refused to even consider going to ND for the game. they even went as far to say they would not play ND at all unless they had homecourt. instead they chose a saturday game with the full knowledge of ND's friday night homecoming game... suspicious
-- Posted by aCARtheGREAT on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 10:07 PM

-- Posted by RedShirt on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 10:17 PM
First off, congrats to SCC. That was a well-played game and you all should be proud of the win. I think there were two huge factors in the game that led to Sikeston's demise. The first would be Sikeston's inability to keep Otto off of the boards or slow him down at all. The second would be Will getting hurt and not playing in the 2nd half. I think he had 14 in the first half, including 4 3's. Sikeston had many open looks from deep in the 2nd half and I feel Will would have knocked some of them down. I think SCC took care of the ball fairly well and Bobby Hatchett single handedly broke the press many times. Bobby is a D1 talent and I hope he gets the chance to prove that after a couple years of JUCO. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way. I think this game will make both teams better.
-- Posted by yah-yah on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 10:37 PM
Muckbajor, turn off your caps lock and chill out. There is a lot of basketball between now and February 26th. Any knowledgeable basketball fan knows that the Sikeston vs. ND rematch is a tossup and may come down to the last posession.
-- Posted by yah-yah on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 10:40 PM
Sikeston will have two major problems in that game NDs height, and their stifling defense.
-- Posted by semo2014 on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 10:43 PM
Those weren't really major problems in the first matchup. ND didn't exactly blow Sikeston out. It was a five point game.
-- Posted by yah-yah on Wed, Feb 10, 2010, at 10:45 PM
I realize that but the size is a major problem it was for them tonight and ND has two big men at 6'7".

Note: There is a large crowd at the Bernie / Advance game. But we don't have any officals. Somebody call those guys with CAA patches.

Two officals without CAA patches arrived at 6:45 p.m. The Bernie / Advance varsity game should begin at approximately 8:15 p.m. It's going to be a long night.

There are so many BIG games Friday I don't know which game I should attend.
Twin Rivers plays Clearwater in the finals of the OFC Tournament at the Bess Activity Center in Poplar Bluff.
Poplar Bluff travels to Notre Dame.
Sikeston travels to Cape Central.
Charleston travels to Portageville.
Jackson travels to NMCC.
I don't know which game I should attend Friday. Would someone please help me? I need advice. This is the most impressive slate of games I have seen this season.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 12:23 AM
nmcc plays at jackson and I think pville and charelston played tonight. Charleston won.
-- Posted by BuckMajor on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 12:36 AM
My bad, charleston jv won, pville varsity won
-- Posted by BuckMajor on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 12:42 AM
BuckMajor
The schedules I printed off another website said the Portageville / Charleston game was Friday. The schedule also said Portageville played Gideon Thursday.
I took a look at the Jackson / New Madrid game. The schedule I printed off the website says Jackson plays at NMCC on the Jackson schedule. The schedule also says NMCC plays at Jackson on the NMCC schedule.
I am confident you are correct BuckMajor. But this information is listed on another website.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 12:44 AM
This is so depressing. I think I just started a discussion about where and when the games will be played instead of which game will be the most exciting game to attend.
Could someone with credentials announce the location of the Jackson / NMCC game and the date of the Portageville / Charleston game?
I am considering attending the Portageville / Charleston game if I finish my interviews at a local museum in Cape Girardeau in time to make it to Portageville. But I don't want to drive to Portageville when I can watch a game in Cape Girardeau unless there is indeed a game in Portageville. I really want to watch Clearwater play Twin Rivers. But I don't know if I want drive from Bernie to Cape Girardeau to Poplar Bluff to Bernie tommorow. But I really would like to watch Clearwater play once.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 1:04 AM
I'm supposed to be covering Charleston at Portageville tomorrow night, so I hope that's when it is lol.
-- Posted by FarmBoy06 on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 1:07 AM
Portageville played Gideon tonight, not Charleston. I remember hearing that score earlier.
-- Posted by FarmBoy06 on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 1:09 AM

Any thoughts on the Portageville / Charleston game? Do you think this will be a more exciting game than the Poplar Bluff / Notre Dame game or the Clearwater / Twin Rivers game?
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 1:38 AM
I think P'ville-Ctown or ND-PB could both be good ones.

Clearwater defeated Twin Rivers by 1 earlier this season. This game has potential. But if I am driving by Notre Dame around 5 p.m. I might have a hard time convincing myself to drive to Poplar Bluff to watch Clearwater and Twin Rivers. The Portageville / Charleston also has potential. I also think the NMCC / Jackson game will be a good game. We really don't know how Sikeston will play at Cape Central. I believe Sikeston is 0-2 in games played inside the city limits of Cape Girardeau this season.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 1:54 AM
Sikeston may be 1-2 in games played inside the city limits of Cape Girardeau if they won a game at the Pepsi Showcase in November.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 1:55 AM
Schedule is right. Portageville hosted Gideon and won 76 to 35 after two starters (Treadwell and Minnis) left the team this week for personal reasons. Charleston will make for a tighter matchup tonight at Portageville>
-- Posted by sawdust49 on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 5:34 AM
Portageville hasn't lost a game at home yet, and despite losing Treadwell and Minnis a lot of players stepped up last night to fill their roles all be it against Gideon not a tested team like Charleston. Also both Portageville and Charleston beat Caruthersville when they had their two best players out by similar scores(82-64 Pville)(87-69 Charleston).

Timeout. Full timeout.
Portageville lost Treadwell and Minnis. We don't need details why they lost them. But . . . paulbd please tell us how long they will be out. Are they out for the season?

both were in street clothes in the fan section at last nights blowout of Gideon. My sources say it was a situation where the team was not practicing (running) to satisfy, and were sent home. They were given the opportunity to return to practice (1 of 3 returned) on Monday, but refused, and then were told to "turn in there uniforms. It would be considered a "quit" in my book. (The book of real world...work) And much to my pleasure, the team played better without them. Better passing, more assist, less showboating. Keep this in mind as Portageville Bulldogs finish out the year...roster includes 3 Juniors, 4 Sophomores, 5 freshman. Thats JV and Varsity combined. Jv will take the hit for the team, and watch out for the Bulldog Varsity squad. They are getting their act together, and if they can listen to Coach Bidewell, you will see some great play...this year, and in 2011 and 2012. I support Coach Bidewell 150 percent and say GO DAWGS!
-- Posted by sawdust49 on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 11:57 AM
There's too many bulldogs around here: Portageville, Gideon, Sikeston, Notre Dame. I get confused.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 12:06 PM
South Pemiscot are bulldogs, as well.
-- Posted by yah-yah on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 12:31 PM
At Zalma they're Bulldogs too.
-- Posted by farminmarsh on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 12:46 PM
No way! Zalma, South Pem, Sikeston, Notre Dame, Gideon and Portageville. That's ridculous!
A few others have bothered me too - like the eagles. I'm aware of East Prairie, Oran and NMCC. Who am I leaving out? How many tigers are there? How about bluejays? Indians/braves/warriors?
When it comes to mascots, southeast Missouri is a little lacking. My personal SEMO favorite is the Black Knights of Farmington. Also can't complain about the Malden "Greenwave".

-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 1:16 PM
Yea holcomb still has a school there the hornets purple and white. Cooter is wildcats and their blue I think. Steele is south pem so bulldogs.

Campbell camels too! Can't forget them LOL!

The news on Portageville is huge. I would like to provide a detailed response to your comments. However, I am at Pasta House on an iPhone.
I'll show up at a game somewhere in two or three hours. I am still undecided. I don't know which game I will attend yet. I am still in Cape Girardeau right now.

I'm in Malden watching the Bernie / Malden game.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 6:49 PM
At the end of the first Bernie leads Malden 30-7.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:41 PM
Sikeston v Cape just tipped off.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:50 PM
Sikeston with 2 steals on Cape's first 3 possessions. Sikeston with the early 6-0 lead.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:52 PM
Cape turns it over again. Cassasola with 2 fouls in the first 90 seconds. Sikeston now leads 7-0 after the free throw. Another turnover. Now 9-0.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:54 PM
NMCC/Jackson tied at 13 end of 1
-- Posted by coachpanther on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:54 PM
Cape with two more turnovers. Sikeston leads 13-2.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:56 PM
At halftime Bernie leads Malden 44-19.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:58 PM
Sikeston is pretty to analyze. If a team has a big man and can handle pressure, they can beat Sikeston. If they don't. They can't.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 7:59 PM
Meant to say Sikeston is pretty EASY to analyze.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:00 PM
Now Juqualin Wiggins for Sikeston has 2 fouls. Still 2 minutes left in the first. Sikeston leads 13-4.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:02 PM
I've lost track of the Cape turnovers. Sikeston is 1 for 7 from the free throw line in the first quarter. At the end of the first, Sikeston leads 15-8.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:06 PM
Sikeston fouls Williams as he shoots a three. He makes 2 of 3. Sikeston leads 15-10.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:09 PM
Eli Jackson scores on the other end. Jackson with 9 points. Cape scores on the other end. Sikeston still leads by 5.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:10 PM
31-19 NMCC half
-- Posted by coachpanther on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:12 PM
Wiggins picks up his 3rd foul and it's early in the 2nd quarter. Cape has trimmed the lead to 3 after the free throws. Cape is 6 for 7 from the line.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:13 PM
Andrew Williams nails a three for Cape. Tie game.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:15 PM
Cape has settled down and quit turning the ball over. Currently, with Wiggins out of the lineup with foul trouble and Holifield not dressed due to a concussion suffered Wednesday night, Sikeston is hurting for offense. Keldon Warfield is seeing a lot of minutes for Sikeston who is having to go deep into their bench.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:16 PM
ND leads Bluff 33-32 at the half.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:17 PM
Eli Jackson picks up his 11th point with 2 free throws. Janiel Hatchett follows with a free throw and Sikeston leads by one.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:18 PM
James Lane hits a free throw. Game tied again. Corey Porter has picked up his 2nd foul. Sikeston has already committed 10 fouls. Cape hits a 3 and now leads by 3.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:20 PM
LOL
Cape Central is amazing.
The Poplar Bluff / Notre Dame score doesnot surprise me. Poplar Bluff already has one win against Notre Dame this season.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:23 PM
Eli Jackson just picked up his 3rd foul. Still in the 2nd quarter. The officials are the same ones who called the ND v SCC game. Lots of fouls called in that one.
Martez Evans hits a 3 to tie the game. Sikeston picks off the in-bounds pass but fails to convert.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:24 PM
Sikeston with two quick steals in the last 45 seconds of the half. Martez Evans of Sikeston misses a dunk at the buzzer. Sikeston leads 26-24. There were 21 fouls called in the first half.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:27 PM
What a contrast in officiating styles. If I remember correctly, during the SCC v Sikeston game, there were only ten fouls called in the first half and neither team ever entered the bonus, and that's even more amazing when you consider the style both those teams play. Those officials really let them play. Tonight...not so much. I like the other style better.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:30 PM
Bernie defeats Malden 75-41.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:31 PM
I think Sikeston missing Holifield may be huge against NMCC. With the inside presence of Ealy, Sikeston will need some perimeter shooting. Janiel Hatchett and Daryl Howard will really need to step up and knock down some shots if Sikeston hopes to win.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:33 PM
45-35 NMCC end of 3
-- Posted by coachpanther on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:37 PM
What is NMCC's conference record? If Bluff manages to knock off ND and if Sikeston holds off Cape will the NMCC v Sikeston game on Tuesday be for the conference title?
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:37 PM
I meant to say OUTRIGHT conference title above.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:38 PM
Cape with 2 quick buckets to start the 2nd half. Now cape leads by 2.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:39 PM
Corey Porter just picked up his 4th foul with 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Sikeston is 0 for 5 from three. Cape makes both free throws and leads by 4.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:40 PM
Cassasola picks up his 3rd foul. The officials really enjoy their job. Wiggins scores and cuts the lead to two.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:41 PM
At the end of the third Dexter leads Kennett by 2.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:43 PM
Eldridge Gibson, a sophomore, is in the game for Sikeston. I'm not sure he's played any varsity at all this year aside from the last few minutes in blowouts. The foul trouble and Holifield's absence is going to be tough for the bulldogs to overcome.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:43 PM
Wiggins with a steal and an assist to hatchett. Tie game.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:44 PM
Eli Jackson just picked up his fourth foul. four minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Sikeston now has 3 JV players on the floor, Eldridge Gibson, Caleb McGee and Terry Jamison. Lane misses both. Game still tied in the 3rd.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 8:46 PM

Cape with a conventional 3 goes back up by 5.
Sikeston is 0 for 8 from three.

LOOKS LIKE SCC BACK AT NUMBER 1 IN THE AREA AGAIN ND GOT BEAT LOOKS LIKE
-- Posted by kmasters on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:19 PM
Cape wins by 7. I think the last time Sikeston lost two in a row I owned a rotary dial telephone and my home computer was a TRS 80 from radio shack.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:21 PM
Cape Central now has wins against Notre Dame, Sikeston, and Poplar Bluff. Do we finally get to have a pizza party?
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:22 PM
kmasters
Maybe Scott County Central should be No. 1. But which team should be No. 2? I think I could present an argument Cape Central should be No. 2.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:23 PM
2 POPLAR BLUFF 3ND 4SIKESTON
-- Posted by kmasters on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:28 PM
With Sikeston losing and if, and that's a BIG if, NMCC beats them Sikeston on Tuesday night NMCC will be the outright SEMO Conf Champions with their only loss in conference play to PB. Keep up the good work Eagles!
-- Posted by coachpanther on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:29 PM
Sikeston really has problems winning games inside the city limit of Cape Girardeau.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:29 PM
ALSO NMCC COULD BE IN THE MIX ONLY REASON CAPE ISNT THEY HAVE SOME BAD BEATS BY SOME OK TEAMS
-- Posted by kmasters on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:30 PM
I meant to say in Sikeston
-- Posted by coachpanther on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:31 PM
What has Sikeston done away from Sikeston? All of their big wins are in Sikeston.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:33 PM
Sikeston has problems with any team that has some size. Cape has 3 starters listed at 6'5". Sikeston's tallest player is 6'3". Another interesting point, from Junior High on up, Sikeston really doesn't have any height there either, aside from Reece Porter who is a 6'1" eighth grader. Sikeston needs Reece to grow another six inches.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:34 PM
I think you're right, DM. I think Sikeston's only good win on the road was at Jackson.
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:34 PM
Sikeston's road record against teams in drawmules Top 10 is 0-3.
-- Posted by drawmules on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:35 PM
If Sikeston happens to beat NMCC next week would that mean Sikeston, NMCC, Cape, Bluff and ND would ALL have 2 conference losses?
-- Posted by football monkey on Fri, Feb 12, 2010, at 9:37 PM
Crazy, crazy night. We had people at the Cape-Sikeston and ND-Poplar Bluff games and calls keep coming in. Plenty of info and coverage to come.
Thanks to monkey and all the rest providing updates tonight.

Please get a score from the Clearwater / Twin Rivers game. It was one of the biggest games tonight that might be overlooked. Clearwater is ranked No. 5 in Class 3. They haven't lost a game in weeks if not months.

Multiple sources are reporting Clearwater beat Twin Rivers. There is some uncertainty about the score.

I plan on attending two games on Saturday. I will attend the Bloomfield / Doniphan game at the Bess Activity Center in Poplar Bluff at 3:15 p.m.
I will then drive to Dexter and watch the Dexter / Notre Dame game.

Wow a possible 6th win in a row for Bloomfield...and without Hensley, too bad they relied on him too much while he was around, now they realize they can beat some teams without him, imagine who they could contend with, if they still had him.

Bloomfield defeats Doniphan 56-39.
Note: I just learned Advance is scheduled to play South Iron at the Bess Activity Center at 5 p.m. I think I will remain in Poplar Bluff so I can watch South Iron. I have not had the opportunity to watch South Iron play a game this season. Three Rivers is also scheduled to play West Plains at 7 p.m. There is plenty of basketball to watch in Poplar Bluff. I hope to hear live updates or a final score from the Dexter / Notre Dame game.

Please post a score for the Dexter / Notre Dame game. I will post updates for the Three Rivers / West Plains game on this thread. I don't want to create a new thread for one college game. The Raiders have four players out tonight. West Plains has a large crowd for a visiting team at a college game.

West Plains is 19-6 and 2-3 in Region 16.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch. Approximately four inches of snow are expected on Monday.
For more information click on this link: http://www.weather.com/weather/alerts/lo...

Dexter-Notre Dame game has been postponed tonite. No make-up date has been set. Confirmed by Corey Mouser, A.D. at Dexter.
Sikeston vs. Portageville is PPD as well.
Dexter v. ND will be made up next Monday, the 15th.
I'm searching for a game to attend on Tuesday.
Does anyone know if the Kennett / Gosnell game has been postponed? The Malden / Clarkton game? The Bernie / Hayti game?
It looks like they may get the ND v. Dexter game scheduled for tomorrow night, instead of Monday. I will update when I hear for sure.
Bloomfield @ Oran cancelled
The Bernie / Hayti game will be played on Wednesday.
Any word on the Kennett / Gosnell game?
I still plan on attending the Scott County Central / Sikeston game. I will likely have at least two extra tickets because some of the people I planned on attending the Scott County Central / Sikeston game with will likely attend the Bernie / Hayti game. If anyone needs two tickets let me know.
Why would the walking track need repaired? It's new.
At the end of the first Bernie leads Hayti 20-11.
Bernie leads Hayti 49-28 at halftime.
Bernie leads Hayti 67-35.
Leopold defeats Oak Ridge 51-41.
Bernie defeats Hayti 77-39.
OH MY WHAT A GAME BY THE BRAVES THEY DIDNT LET ANYONE DECIDE THE OUTCOME BUT THEM......SIKESTON FANS WAS LEAVING THE GAME WITH OVER A MIN. LEFT ...... I REALLY BELIEVE SCC AND ND ARE THE POWERHOUSES OF SEMO GO BRAVESSSSSSSSSSS
THEY ARE MOST DEF THE POWERHOUSES! CANT WAIT UNTIL FEB. 25 WHEN ND BEATS SIKESTON A SECOND TIME!!!!
26TH
notre dame vs. dexter game has been set for this sat. JV starts @ 4:00. why is it being played in the old gym? because dexter refused to even consider going to ND for the game. they even went as far to say they would not play ND at all unless they had homecourt. instead they chose a saturday game with the full knowledge of ND's friday night homecoming game... suspicious
ND will be ready no different than playing in a tournament.
Buck...dont count your Bulldogs before they hatch ;) Sikeston is still great and will be ready for the 26th...I promise!!
Muckbajor, turn off your caps lock and chill out. There is a lot of basketball between now and February 26th. Any knowledgeable basketball fan knows that the Sikeston vs. ND rematch is a tossup and may come down to the last posession.
Sikeston will have two major problems in that game NDs height, and their stifling defense.
Those weren't really major problems in the first matchup. ND didn't exactly blow Sikeston out. It was a five point game.
And then there were three.
At the end of the first quarter Bernie leads Advance 19-18.
At halftime Bernie leads Advance 29-22.
At the end of the third quarter Bernie leads Advance 43-31.
At the end of the third quarter Bernie leads Advance 43-31.
At the end of the third quarter Bernie leads Advance 43-31.
4:00 remaining Bernie leads Advance 47-33.
Bernie defeats Advance 55-40.
This is the most impressive slate of games I have seen this season.
nmcc plays at jackson and I think pville and charelston played tonight. Charleston won.
My bad, charleston jv won, pville varsity won
See link http://www.semosportsweb.com/highschools...
I'm supposed to be covering Charleston at Portageville tomorrow night, so I hope that's when it is lol.
Portageville played Gideon tonight, not Charleston. I remember hearing that score earlier.
FarmBoy06
Any thoughts on the Portageville / Charleston game? Do you think this will be a more exciting game than the Poplar Bluff / Notre Dame game or the Clearwater / Twin Rivers game?
I think P'ville-Ctown or ND-PB could both be good ones.
FarmBoy06
Clearwater defeated Twin Rivers by 1 earlier this season. This game has potential. But if I am driving by Notre Dame around 5 p.m. I might have a hard time convincing myself to drive to Poplar Bluff to watch Clearwater and Twin Rivers. The Portageville / Charleston also has potential. I also think the NMCC / Jackson game will be a good game. We really don't know how Sikeston will play at Cape Central. I believe Sikeston is 0-2 in games played inside the city limits of Cape Girardeau this season.
Sikeston may be 1-2 in games played inside the city limits of Cape Girardeau if they won a game at the Pepsi Showcase in November.
Schedule is right. Portageville hosted Gideon and won 76 to 35 after two starters (Treadwell and Minnis) left the team this week for personal reasons. Charleston will make for a tighter matchup tonight at Portageville>
Portageville hasn't lost a game at home yet, and despite losing Treadwell and Minnis a lot of players stepped up last night to fill their roles all be it against Gideon not a tested team like Charleston. Also both Portageville and Charleston beat Caruthersville when they had their two best players out by similar scores(82-64 Pville)(87-69 Charleston).
paulbd
Timeout. Full timeout.
Portageville lost Treadwell and Minnis. We don't need details why they lost them. But . . . paulbd please tell us how long they will be out. Are they out for the season?
Drawmules
both were in street clothes in the fan section at last nights blowout of Gideon.
There's too many bulldogs around here: Portageville, Gideon, Sikeston, Notre Dame. I get confused.
South Pemiscot are bulldogs, as well.
At Zalma they're Bulldogs too.
Football monkey you forget my favorite clarkton reindeer haha!
You're right Buck - I forgot all about them. What about Cooter and Steele? What's their mascot? does Holcomb still have a high school? If so, what's their mascot?
Yea holcomb still has a school there the hornets purple and white. Cooter is wildcats and their blue I think. Steele is south pem so bulldogs.
Campbell camels too! Can't forget them LOL!
And doniphan gets most creative name award with the dons! I wonder how long it took em to think up that name LOL!
I remember when my alma mater used to play both Doniphan and South Pemiscot in football. I think the last year for Doniphan was 1977 or so and South Pem was maybe '79.

The news on Portageville is huge. I would like to provide a detailed response to your comments. However, I am at Pasta House on an iPhone.
I'll show up at a game somewhere in two or three hours. I am still undecided. I don't know which game I will attend yet. I am still in Cape Girardeau right now.
Draw,
Stay there. I can't make it to ND for the game and need updates. I am at the Kennett v. Dexter game.
I'm in Malden watching the Bernie / Malden game.
At the end of the first Bernie leads Malden 30-7.
Sikeston v Cape just tipped off.
Sikeston with 2 steals on Cape's first 3 possessions. Sikeston with the early 6-0 lead.
Cape turns it over again. Cassasola with 2 fouls in the first 90 seconds. Sikeston now leads 7-0 after the free throw. Another turnover. Now 9-0.
NMCC/Jackson tied at 13 end of 1
Cape with two more turnovers. Sikeston leads 13-2.
At halftime Bernie leads Malden 44-19.
Sikeston is pretty to analyze. If a team has a big man and can handle pressure, they can beat Sikeston. If they don't. They can't.
Meant to say Sikeston is pretty EASY to analyze.
Now Juqualin Wiggins for Sikeston has 2 fouls. Still 2 minutes left in the first. Sikeston leads 13-4.
I've lost track of the Cape turnovers. Sikeston is 1 for 7 from the free throw line in the first quarter. At the end of the first, Sikeston leads 15-8.
Sikeston fouls Williams as he shoots a three. He makes 2 of 3. Sikeston leads 15-10.
Eli Jackson scores on the other end. Jackson with 9 points. Cape scores on the other end. Sikeston still leads by 5.
31-19 NMCC half
Wiggins picks up his 3rd foul and it's early in the 2nd quarter. Cape has trimmed the lead to 3 after the free throws. Cape is 6 for 7 from the line.
Andrew Williams nails a three for Cape. Tie game.
ND leads Bluff 33-32 at the half.
Eli Jackson picks up his 11th point with 2 free throws. Janiel Hatchett follows with a free throw and Sikeston leads by one.
James Lane hits a free throw. Game tied again. Corey Porter has picked up his 2nd foul. Sikeston has already committed 10 fouls. Cape hits a 3 and now leads by 3.
LOL
Cape Central is amazing.
The Poplar Bluff / Notre Dame score doesnot surprise me. Poplar Bluff already has one win against Notre Dame this season.
Sikeston with two quick steals in the last 45 seconds of the half. Martez Evans of Sikeston misses a dunk at the buzzer. Sikeston leads 26-24. There were 21 fouls called in the first half.
Bernie defeats Malden 75-41.
I think Sikeston missing Holifield may be huge against NMCC. With the inside presence of Ealy, Sikeston will need some perimeter shooting. Janiel Hatchett and Daryl Howard will really need to step up and knock down some shots if Sikeston hopes to win.
45-35 NMCC end of 3
What is NMCC's conference record? If Bluff manages to knock off ND and if Sikeston holds off Cape will the NMCC v Sikeston game on Tuesday be for the conference title?
I meant to say OUTRIGHT conference title above.
Cape with 2 quick buckets to start the 2nd half. Now cape leads by 2.
Corey Porter just picked up his 4th foul with 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Sikeston is 0 for 5 from three. Cape makes both free throws and leads by 4.
Cassasola picks up his 3rd foul. The officials really enjoy their job. Wiggins scores and cuts the lead to two.
At the end of the third Dexter leads Kennett by 2.
Eldridge Gibson, a sophomore, is in the game for Sikeston. I'm not sure he's played any varsity at all this year aside from the last few minutes in blowouts. The foul trouble and Holifield's absence is going to be tough for the bulldogs to overcome.
Wiggins with a steal and an assist to hatchett. Tie game.
Eli Jackson just picked up his fourth foul. four minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Sikeston now has 3 JV players on the floor, Eldridge Gibson, Caleb McGee and Terry Jamison. Lane misses both. Game still tied in the 3rd.
Cassasola hits a three. Martez Evans with two. Sikeston leads by one.
Kennett leads Dexter 53-50 4:29 remaining.
Martez Evans just picked up his 3rd foul after a foul was just called on Sikeston's Caleb McGee.
Bluff leads ND by 1 after 3 quarters.
Daryl Howard misses 2 free throws. Sikeston trails by three. Sikeston is 5 for 16 from the free throw line.
Cassasola with his 4th foul on a charge.
Kennett leads Dexter 59-56 1:40 remaining.
Kennett leads Dexter 62-56. 1:10 remaining.
Martez Evans for Sikeston at the free throw line misses them both. Sikeston 5 for 18 from the line. Cape hits a runner at the buzzer and leads by five after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, Sikeston's Jackson and Porter will be playing with 4 fouls. Wiggins has 3. On the season, Sikeston is shooting 56% from the free thrown line.
Janiel Hatchett with the hoop and the harm. Makes the free throw and Sikeston cuts the lead to 2. 37-35.
62-59 Kennett.
0:36 remaining 62-59 Kennett. Dexter ball.
NMCC wins 58-48. If Sikeston pulls it out in Cape, it sets up a first place battle for the SEMO Conf.
Cape with a conventional 3 goes back up by 5.
Sikeston is 0 for 8 from three.
Wiggins just missed two free throws. Now 6 for 21.
Flannigan misses a three that would have tied the game. 62-59. 0:14 remaining.
Daryl Howard with a steal and a lay-up. cuts the lead to 3.
0:11 remaining 62-59 Kennett. Timeout Dexter. Dexter ball.
Anybody got a Bluff score?
Andrew Williams picks up his fourth foul for cape. Eli Jackson makes one of two. The lead for cape is down to 3.
Kennett defeats Dexter 62-59.
I think every player on both teams has at least 3 fouls. Boerboon makes 2 free throws. Cape by 5.
Boerboon with 2 more. Cape by 7.
Hatchett hits a 3. Cape by 4.
scc blowing out oran up by 37 in forth and subs are in and clock is running time to go 4 min. left
How much time is left football monkey?
Cape is running clock. They run a full minute off the clock before Sikeston fouls. Cassasola at the line makes 'em both. Cape by six with four minutes left.
Wiggins with a deuce. Cape by 4. Sikeston timeout with 3:48 left.
Does Sikeston have a radio station? What is it?
i think they are on b 97.9
Goal tending called against Sikeston. Cape leads by 6. 2:26 left.
Eli Jackson with a deuce. Cape by 4.
Sikeston with a steal and a lay-up. Cape by 2.
whats the score now
Cassasola at the line with 1:36 left. Makes 1. Cape by 3.
or it could be on 1440 am i dont remember lol
Hatchett at the line with 16 points on the night. 1:16 left. Makes one. Cape by 2.
oh my this would be a big upset
Cassasola with 2 more free throws. Cape by 4. One minute left.
Corey Porter misses a 3.
35 seconds left and Jackson has fouled out.
come on football monkey score plz lol
Andrew Williams makes 2 free throws. Cape by 6.
Then Sikeston turns it over with 26 seconds left.
Bluff beat ND by 2.
Maybe an upset, but not a big upset. Cape has beaten some stout teams all season.
what is the finallllllllllll lol
I tried to tell everybody Poplar Bluff was a good team.
LOOKS LIKE SCC BACK AT NUMBER 1 IN THE AREA AGAIN ND GOT BEAT LOOKS LIKE
Cape wins by 7. I think the last time Sikeston lost two in a row I owned a rotary dial telephone and my home computer was a TRS 80 from radio shack.
Cape Central now has wins against Notre Dame, Sikeston, and Poplar Bluff. Do we finally get to have a pizza party?
kmasters
Maybe Scott County Central should be No. 1. But which team should be No. 2? I think I could present an argument Cape Central should be No. 2.
2 POPLAR BLUFF 3ND 4SIKESTON
With Sikeston losing and if, and that's a BIG if, NMCC beats them Sikeston on Tuesday night NMCC will be the outright SEMO Conf Champions with their only loss in conference play to PB. Keep up the good work Eagles!
Sikeston really has problems winning games inside the city limit of Cape Girardeau.
ALSO NMCC COULD BE IN THE MIX ONLY REASON CAPE ISNT THEY HAVE SOME BAD BEATS BY SOME OK TEAMS
I meant to say in Sikeston
What has Sikeston done away from Sikeston? All of their big wins are in Sikeston.
I think you're right, DM. I think Sikeston's only good win on the road was at Jackson.
Sikeston's road record against teams in drawmules Top 10 is 0-3.
If Sikeston happens to beat NMCC next week would that mean Sikeston, NMCC, Cape, Bluff and ND would ALL have 2 conference losses?
Crazy, crazy night. We had people at the Cape-Sikeston and ND-Poplar Bluff games and calls keep coming in. Plenty of info and coverage to come.
Thanks to monkey and all the rest providing updates tonight.
Charleston defeats Portageville 77-53.
I believe you are correct football.
Note: Risco does not play Marquand on Saturday.
I plan on attending two games on Saturday. I will attend the Bloomfield / Doniphan game at the Bess Activity Center in Poplar Bluff at 3:15 p.m.
I will then drive to Dexter and watch the Dexter / Notre Dame game.
Bell City defeated South Iron 55-49 on Friday. Interesting score.
South Pemiscot defeated North Pemiscot 61-53. Perhaps South Pemiscot will will Class 2 District 1 and advance to the state quarterfinals.
* will win *
At the end of the first quarter Bloomfield leads Doniphan 11-9.
3:22 remaining in second Bloomfield leads Doniphan 22-18.
At halftime Bloomfield leads Doniphan 24-20.
Bloomfield was hotter than a jalapeno pepper in the third quarter. At the end of the third quarter Bloomfield leads Doniphan 42-25.
At the end of the first quarter Advance leads South Iron 9-8.
Advance has twice as many wins as South Iron this season. Nevertheless, South Iron leads Advance 21-20 at halftime.
Advance is on a 13-0 run to start the third quarter. Adance leads South Iron 33-21 with 5:20 remaining in the third quarter.
At the end of the third quarter Advance leads South Iron 41-29.
Advance defeats South Iron 57-45.
15:00 remaining in the first half Three Rivers leads West Plains 12-5.
10:00 Three Rivers and West Plains are tied at 14. West Plains half court defense is giving Three Rivers problems. The fans from West Plains are on their feet.
7:38 remaining in first half 18-17 Three Rivers.
2:23 26-20 Three Rivers.
At halftime Three Rivers leads West Plains 30-20.
15:00 remaining in second half Three Rivers leads West Plains 36-25.
Notre Dame defeats Dexter 76-49.
Campbell defeats Gideon.
Kennett defeats Union City, Tenn.
10:00 remaining Three Rivers leads West Plains 52-33.
So I have a question for someone who may know. How is our boy Hollifield looking for this upcoming week? better i hope!
I heard from one of the parents at Friday nights game that Hollifield was out till Wednesday.
Ok thanks fatboy1972. I guess it could always be worse you know!
True, I talked to Will at lunch on Friday and he said hopefully he will be back by the Bernie game.
