Since sideline came out with his Top 5 and left out 3 of the real Top 5 teams I'm doing my own and don't care if you Semo boys like it or not!! 1. SG Dragons- The dragons are a force to deal With a great D and A offense that can run the I or run the spread the loss to MWood has open there eyes should see JB in the state quarters. 2. Sikeston - great coaching staff there a little young but have a lot of skilled players and they are fast! Speed kills!! 3.CVille all I gotta say is that Monroe is a beast! CVille has that winning mentality and plays hard every snap! Gotta learn how to pass but should face MWood in playoffs!! 4. PHC the Rebels have a great back in Mitchell and running the wildcat will make them better! Got a tough schedule ahead should be 6-3 heading into week 10!! 5. Fredricktown- I absolutely love Coach Henson awesome coach the kind of coach you would want your kid playing for. Greminger is a great QB with some weapons will be the # 3 seed in a tough Dist!! I'm about fed up with most of you saying SG PHC and Freddy are not in Semo look at the darn map and I don't care if Semoball doesn't cover them they should and its a shame they don't!!

in a way i agree with mostly everything you said. haha!i agree with you 100% on henson. he might not be the most winning coach in missouri but you switch him out with stolzer and you have basically the same SG and freddy teams. they are my 2 favorite coaches by far. if i didnt play for freddy in HS i would have loved to be coached by stolzer. when stolzer retires he needs to be a comedian. he's a freakin hoot.
Like I said in my post BG, I used the schools that are covered by Semoball which schools in the area of the SE Missourian, Standard Democrat, Daily American Public, Dexter Daily Statesman, and Daily Dunklin Democrat. Otherwise, any school from here to north of St. Louis could come up with some fancy way to say they are technically SEMO. Just creating some boundaries. Plus, Ste. Gen would have probably been the only school I would have put in my top five somewhere around three or four. Apparently, you aren't a believer in what Jackson is doing.
Jackson is overrated according to my source!
They've defeated all their opponents big time so far and looked impressive even against Farmington. Gotta go by what they've done to a degree, not just what you hear because I've noticed you hear a lot of things. Hah.

Should say sideline! And Zach yes we are at the Valle SG game channel 12 was there and I ask him if channel 12 considers SG in Semo he laughed and said were else would it be! Anything south of Jeff co is considered Semo
Don't be mad at me. When Toby Carrig used to run this website, he had his top five football teams in the area each week. When he left and Crader took over, she didn't really continue it so I started to do it myself. I do a top ten for SEMO basketball each week as well. So I'm just continuing with the same parameters that have always been used. Nobody really said anything about which schools were included until you all migrated over from Semo Sports Web.
In regards to Jackson, I'm not big on North County either but even a bad Class 5 STL school like Vianney can beat some teams around here and Farmington is still Farmington. They aren't great but they are a mediocre Class 4 school with tradition who Jackson also laid into. They get PB this week. I think they will win pretty big over them as well.
I'm not mad Sideline I just think Semo people are biased when it comes to SG PHC and Freddy!! They don't want any attention taken away from Sikeston and Cville or what ever team is doing well at the time.
We welcome new comers. I enjoy talking about all teams, not just in our immediate area. I'm sure Sideline feels the same. He was just stating that Semoball's coverage area really leaves SG,Freddy,PHC out. Not us posters on here. Feel free to talk away Bleed. Just dont get mad and start blasting people because we have a different opinion about SG than yourself. You went off on me for no reason the other night, I didn't even mention SG and you went off the deep end lol
Yeah, Cheese, Preach, myself, and some of the other fans enjoy the sport in general and will discuss any team. However, we are Sikeston (me) and Caruthersville (Cheese) fans first like you are an SG fan first so we'll obviously give more info on our own team though I do a pretty decent job of putting my bias aside (at least according to me. Hah). Could it be that perhaps you are the one with a little bias towards the teams in Semoball North? Perhaps because you do not see the teams here in Semoball Classic as often? Not accusing, just trying to provide another point of view. There is also a very large Sikeston contingent on here, especially during basketball season which you'll have to get used to.
Sideline didn't say they weren't in Southeast Missouri, just that this website does not cover them, therefore they would not be considered for his top 5. By the way, i remember last time SG had a great team (starting quarterback for SIU) NMCC hung 70 something on them ;)!
Totally got the conversations switched around it look like u said it but it was Preach! I understand u have diff opinions and that's cool so do I but we both have one thing in common we love high school football!

I'd say we are a little biased towards Class 3 around the St Francois Mountains. Only Class 4's close by that didn't change conferences hasn't been real competition lately....
Considering the competitiveness of the Ste. Gen basketball teams the last few years, I'd guess that BG isn't really a basketball fan.
Personally, I'm joking around about the "Not in SEMO" thing. Someone in another thread got their panties in a bunch over PH, SG and FRED.

Although, I do LOVE football, just not like hoops anyway. rocketsbro lives in a different state and he is a (gasp) football ref! I'll text him and tell him to get on here more. my opinion is that fredericktown ought to be in the semoball coverage of football and baseball because of the district assignments. i can understand not covering freddy in anything else. but covering 4 of the 5 teams in a district isnt really fair to freddy in football. they're also the only school not covered in the baseball district. you look at the school listing on the front page and marquand and ellington are on there. if fredericktown isnt a "semoball school", how in the world is another school IN MADISON COUNTY on the list? or a school 45 minutes to an hour southwest of fredericktown a semoball school? that just flabbergasts me... (Bleed Green, that means blows my mind.)and semosportsweb really brought the dark side out of a few people. haha!
Bleed Green and I have been butting heads for the last month, so let me weigh in one more time. Even if we were to include Ste. Gen, PHC, and Freddy for purposes of rankings, I still agree with Sideline that only Ste. Gen would make the Top 5.
I would rank the teams in this order: 1. Jackson 2. Sikeston 3. Cape Central 4. Ste. Genevieve 5. Caruthersville.
That's not to say that PHC and Freddy aren't very good teams because they are, just that they aren't as good as the Top 5 IMO.
It seems like every year in each season we have someone new that does understand that this is sideline's thing, and they decide to start their own poll. Green I hope you the best and that you can keep it up, but many have tried and failed to topple the sideline top 5 or 10.
Also if you think it's bad with football just wait for basketball. I have seen some pretty epic arguments, and people getting banned over basketball on this site.
Yes Zach your Right I'm not a basketball fan period! Has nothing to do with SG I just think its boaring and it's a very selfish game with selfish players! I'd rather watch PHC football haha
At least Sideline provides a legitimate and unbiased opinion, rather than saying my teams the best and that's what I got to say about it.
That's not what I said I actually think I should of put Sikeston 1 but I'm not totally convinced that there legit! And playing a really bad Farm squad isn't going to help me out! But if they are they will b best team in Semo!! These next 3 weeks are going to desperate the contenders from pretenders! If my Dragons are legit they must beat 2 really good squads in PHC and Freddy!! Do I think they will YES I do but like Cheese says anything can happen on Friday night!!
i hate basketball in southeast missouri. the fans (for the most part) are a freaking joke and act like things i can't say on here. i got a shake thrown on my car 2 years ago in sikeston because i told someone's kid to shut up in the parking lot after he was talking crap about how terrible one of my relatives were at basketball. i bet it was one of those rocket boys too... and BG, SG can't handle freddy or PH and you know it.
The truth has a different flavor, maybe strawberry, maybe chocolate or vanilla. Daddy, don't judge based on a few HS kids. Heck, for all u know they were Olympic shake throwers....lol. Just getting in a few reps before a the Trials...
Haha illbet u SG beats them both by a combine of over 42 points that's how confident I am I watched the 1 half your defenses played well because neither offense is worth a hoot!! TheDaddy....my son is 7 and infrequently attends basketball games. I normally have to tell him who won. I'm QUITE certain it wasn't him and I'm QUITE certain it wasn't me that threw a shake on your car. Rocketsbro doesn't even have any kids AND he lives out of state. Don't let Rocket fool you Daddy. He gets his kicks from throwing shakes at people's cars as well as their heads, their pets, lawn gnomes, traffic cones, you name it and Rocket has probably thrown a shake at it. It was bad enough one time a couple of years ago that a riot broke out between the Sikeston and Charleston fans and it is also what originally sparked the rivalry between Sikeston and Notre Dame. Apparently, they aren't fond of strawberry.

Nahh, wasn't me. I'm smart enough to wait until I'm in the car to talk trash on your relatives after watching them play basketball. I do know that kid did end up getting reprimanded. I love how every Semoballer seems to have attended or been involved in one of the three incidents involving real stupidity by a Sikeston fan in the last four years.

I love stopping in on Semoball from time to time. It's always great seeing middle age men argue about how team X is better than team Y and if you disagree then you are a moron. The over use of question marks and exclamation points really makes me chuckle.
Then there's the whole "this person is a fan of Sikeston so they must be completely biased toward their own team blah blah blah." and "this person is a fan of Bernie so they must love Nascar".
