-- Posted by Bleed Green on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 11:06 AM
Oh wow......easy now Bleed.....I like your thinkin, but 35 is a bunch ....Jackson is pretty dang salty this year...and they couldn't do that .
Farmington is a turf team.....kinda their element....don't you think?
-- Posted by Headhunt on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 11:09 AM
I think Sikeston will win by 3 TD's but Farmington will keep it close until the 4th qtr because of their passing game. Sikeston is vulnerable through the air and the Knights are a pass-first team.
-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 11:17 AM
Watch and see I would be really shocked if at some point in the 2 half it's not a running clock! Guys this isn't the same Farm squad! SG is known for the spread but there not a spread team now! Farm will be good next year and the following year but not this year. And don't forget Sikeston is FAST and that turf is only going to make them Faster.
-- Posted by Bleed Green on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 11:43 AM
This is a tough one to predict. Farmington and Sikeston have usually played each other pretty tough over the past few seasons. (With a couple of exceptions, of course.)
There was a district game where Farmington beat Sikeston by 1 point....a few years back. Sikeston didn't have a very good record, but they gave Farmington darn-near all they could handle...
Farmington played that really "good" Sikeston team a couple of years ago and actually led by a couple of scores at the half....
I think Sikeston may be a better team than Fgtn this year, but it's tough to call.
-- Posted by zachattack on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 11:58 AM
Sikeston "can" win this game by a couple of TDs but like Zach said, don't expect a blowout by either team by any means with this rivalry. Vaughn and Gibbs are two of the best in the business in SEMO right now so I'm sure both team will be more than prepared. I like Sikeston by a TD or two so long as the offense plays like they did last week. Anything more than that is just gravy.

If I've got time tomorrow, I might watch that game!
-- Posted by mojo3 on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 12:17 PM
Fast doesn't always translate to great things on turf. Just ask NMCC's 2001 2nd place football team. Most of that credit goes toward Platte County's tackling abilities, but going up we sorta thought it would be a track meet with a football. In reality it was a 2nd place finish and another Platte County championship.
I don't know much about either team, I'm just commenting on the speed/turf issue.
On a side note, some of the NMCC players chose to wear Air Jordan's over turf cleats..which I found odd..

I wanted the fans coming to
stl Louis to see the game saturday, to know the out of state stunt bikers are already in town doing their stunts on the interstates.
they are suppose to have their downtown rally tomorrow afternoon. These bikers are scary to drivers.
-- Posted by jayrod on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 6:26 PM
I think Sikeston will win this game. But I don't think of will be a blow out. Farmington was a couple dropped passes away from being in the Jackson game. Jackson's defense made the difference in that game. Farmington defense held Jackson to the fewest points this year also. That's not been easy to do this year.
-- Posted by oldschoolbballer on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 6:50 PM
Thanks jayrod they won't know scarey unless they see a bunch of country hicks driving in the city. Should be interesting.they need to watch out for my driving
-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 8:25 PM
Sikeston will dominate Farmington unless they cant stop Farmington's spread offense! How good are te Sikeston's D-backs?
-- Posted by jaxindians2010 on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 11:34 PM
Sikeston's dbacks are tough. Their defensive personnel is good across the board, it's just that 4-4 is open to passes.
-- Posted by sherlockholmes on Fri, Sep 14, 2012, at 11:47 PM
Time will tell......turf, Domes..to me, are just an abomination.....ok if you are in Minneapolis, yeah....but St Louis? Come on.....the Bears don't play inside....Redskins are outside....Broncos, outside...Patriots...well, you get the idea......tear that dang dome down.....Football is made for grass, and mud and , if necessary, snow..
just sayin....

^ I bet you played on the line headhunt
-- Posted by Sonic-The-Hedgehog on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 10:06 AM
I agree headhunt. Football should be played outside. My son plays traveling football. He has played on both grass and turf. He says he likes the real grass allot better. Mom on the other hand likes turf. Hates trying to get grass stains out of his white pants. Lol
-- Posted by oldschoolbballer on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 10:38 AM
I personally have no preference, feel wise, but Turf looks better and doesn't tear up throughout the season. Also I like Domes, it makes throwing the ball easier when you dont have to deal with strong winds or rain
-- Posted by Sonic-The-Hedgehog on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 10:49 AM
Turf is always better, unless it's the old turf at SEMO.
-- Posted by sherlockholmes on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 11:05 AM
Not to be "that guy" or anything but this announcer is STRUGGLING.
-- Posted by Sonic-The-Hedgehog on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 1:39 PM
slow guys like grass, fast guys like turf. and i gotta say it... but "no S*** sherlock!"
-- Posted by TheDaddy on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 1:49 PM
D End......and didnt matter turf or grass....I moved at the speed of smell......still, our D made me play bigger than I was, stunts stunts and more stunts....
Split 4 D.....I just think Grass if more forgiving...dnt be like Notre **** and let the grass grow longer when you play a speed team...haha
-- Posted by Headhunt on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 2:02 PM
Any score yet in the Dome?
-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 2:07 PM
12-0 Sikeston 1st Q. Sikeston scored on a kickoff return and a passing td.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 2:10 PM
Farmington is having a tough time protecting the ball. They start moving it on offense then like clock work, a fumble. Sikeston is doing a great job in capitalizing on Farmington's mistakes.
-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Sat, Sep 15, 2012, at 2:18 PM
Big play Sikeston
farmington doesnt seem to have their normal 6-3 305 pound lineman as we have come to just assume they will have

Hat's off Bleed......lots of big plays and breaks...
Sikestons kids played GREAT defense.
Impressive. Hope all are healthy and not banged up Physical game.....Newman played very well..Word, N Nichols, Clay and Blake played well at middle LBs. Kylan Gross ran a great offense...
92.9 commentators REALLY don t understand the long snapper can release as soon as he snaps....They , on every punt, comment on how they cant understand how Flannigan gets down there first....well boys....he releases first....surely you all have to know that ....
