The top wideout in SEMO is Brannon Wright from Jackson... Plus he's been playing with a slight fracture in his leg all year and his stats speak for him!

I look at it like this.
Technically Bleed didn't curse. Now, anyone with a brain know's what he meant but technically, he didn't. Beleive it or not, I am somewhat on Bleed's side this time as far as who started all the childish crap. Bill called Bleed a Dbag, myself included but I don't get all worked up over childish comments. It's just words, no big deal. Bleed, sometimes the best thing to do is bite your tongue on comments like that. I bite my tongue on here all the time because I enjoy posting on here and having good discussions. I'm with Sideline as far as him saying follow the rules or leave. Not saying that to you BG, but to everyone who post on here. Lot's of people push the boundaries of what is acceptable and what's not, I know I am guilty of it from time to time.
-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Tue, Oct 2, 2012, at 9:47 PM
yea. i agree cheese. kind of a crappy move but it got a little ridiculous. heck i'm 21 (yea i'm a baby) and i didn't get my panties in a bunch over it. last year on semosportsweb i got a little crazy a few times, but this is supposed to be a good ole time where we talk about football. not call people names like we're in grade school. now... back to football.
-- Posted by TheDaddy on Tue, Oct 2, 2012, at 9:59 PM
Not sure what I did to make Bill's DB list, but he did say he was kidding, so no harm, no foul as far I'm concerned.
As for the actual topic of this thread, I would put Dexter's WR Chase Young into the mix. No one has stopped him yet, except maybe Caruthersville. I don't think Chase had a TD in that game, but that's the only one if memory serves.
-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Tue, Oct 2, 2012, at 10:16 PM
I was impressed with chase young. He had two big plays!
-- Posted by BuckMajor on Tue, Oct 2, 2012, at 11:08 PM
Don't fret PManFan I just picked the 5 guys who were most likely to see it! Lol
-- Posted by BillShakespeare on Wed, Oct 3, 2012, at 1:05 AM
Dion Foster from Portageville is a top 5 DB. He has 4 Ints but he missed the last two games due to an ankle injury. I've seen him play and he is small but he is smart and has good footwork. I think if he would of played the last two games he would forsure have 6 or 7 ints by now
-- Posted by Ric Flair (WOOOOOO) on Wed, Oct 3, 2012, at 10:30 AM
Dion Foster from portqageville is an exellent cornerback with 4 interceptions on the season and has only played 4 games. they also have a very good hard hitting safty in dominique walker who can ball. his coverage skills may not be that good though.
-- Posted by SugarBear00 on Wed, Oct 3, 2012, at 10:30 AM
I agree with SugarBearoo on their safety is one hard hitting man. He lacks footwork and judgement ability but he helps their defense out alot
-- Posted by Ric Flair (WOOOOOO) on Wed, Oct 3, 2012, at 10:32 AM

As far as small schools go the St. Vincents group of receivers Trenton Gremaud, Alex Winkler, Jessie Francis and Kevin Mattingly offer a nice mix of speed and reliability.
Every bit as good as Valle's receivers.
-- Posted by nature boy on Wed, Oct 3, 2012, at 8:10 PM
Adam Schwent

According to Semoball's week 6 stats, the top two WRs are Jackson's Brannon Wright and Dexter's Chase Young, in that order.
-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Wed, Oct 3, 2012, at 10:43 PM
I personally don't think those stats are even worth looking at, they don't have the stats for everyone. Some schools don't have any stats submitted, and most don't have the full 6 games. Take Romello McCoy that I highlighted for instance, the stats say he's forth, he should be first if all his games were entered. Also I'm not saying anything against you preach, please don't think that. Those two may very well be the top two, heck young may be the top on since not all his games are entered. I know NMCC's receiver should be up in the top 6 or 7, but he's way down because a few games are missing. Also nothing against Semoball, cause I knows it's the individual schools that are supposed to enter them. I just don't like looking at those stats, it's extremely hard to compare some people with 6 games and some with 4.
-- Posted by BuckMajor on Wed, Oct 3, 2012, at 10:57 PM
and sometimes stats dont tell how valuable, or talented, a kid is. it's what they do in the course of the game that matters. if a qb has 300 yards passing in a game but can't get a pass in the endzone all game is he really a "great player" compared to the kid who throws for 185 yards and 3 td's? if the only passes a receiver catches are the ones that make or break a game, say a 4th and 5 conversion that leads to a game winning score, but doesn't have the stats everyone else does, he shouldn't be a top receiver? i'm not calling anyone out but just stating stats aren't everything.

-- Posted by CoachJ914 on Thu, Oct 4, 2012, at 10:32 AM
Buck, you're exactly right on the Semoball stats. Dexter is at least a week behind and even then not all of their stats are entered. If you scroll on down, it has our leading tackler with like 13 tackles for the season! I know for a fact that's wrong. You and TheDaddy are both right about the stats, just thought it was interesting for the thread topic.
-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Thu, Oct 4, 2012, at 11:15 AM
I know he is more known for his ability at running back, but Travis Phillips from Scott City is a very good defensive back. Very good tackler for his size and has the speed to make plays in pass defense as well. Not to mention a great motor and is in tremendous shape to play both ways with the amount of carries he gets on offense. Hard to believe he tore his ACL last season.
-- Posted by 6+4+3=2 on Thu, Oct 4, 2012, at 2:23 PM
Cooley from Potosi is one of the best I have seen this year. Young had some yds. against SG's 2nd team but Cooley has better hands and really goes up and gets the ball. BJ from P Hills is pretty good for only being a freshman. Have not seen a receiver that you look at and just. really say, that kid needs to be double teamed....
-- Posted by Horizontal Stretch on Thu, Oct 4, 2012, at 10:23 PM
Watched 2 very good ones on defense last nite,Tyson Roth from SG and Justin Sawyer from Fredtown. Both are very good against both pass and the run and they will put a stick on you.
