I know people are surprised by me picking SG over Cville but facts are facts. Caruthersville has been able to get by with a ton of injuries against teams like Charleston,Hayti,NMCC, and Dexter. I think the injuries will hurt them this week against a very good team in SG. If we had our line healthy, I'd say Cville would win this game but with Landon being out, along with Malik, I think depth on the line is the ultimate factor in the game. Also missing our leading tackler, Villegas and stud Colt Callens in the secondary this week will hurt as well. I still look for Cville to compete well against them. Line play will be HUGE in this game.

Cheese the game will be a lot closer then anyone thinks! With SG having wrapped up the #1 seed I can almost guarantee Coach will not take the chance of getting another starter hurt! I believe he will play some starters but not all! I can def see them sitting Drury he is one guy we CAN NOT loose! But I've been wrong before! No matter what I'll be making the trip if you would like to meet up.

Cape Central at Festus - Festus.

Ste. Genevieve at Caruthersville - Ste Gen. Too many injuries for C'ville to make it a game against the Dragon JV

Charleston at Chaffee - Charleston?

Dexter at Malden - Malden

Kennett at East Prairie - Kennett (they HAVE to win sometime!)

Francis Howell Central at Jackson - Jackson. Don't see much out of Howell Central this year, 1 & 8 record coming.

New Madrid County Central at Portageville - Portageville, based solely on record. NMCC reminds me of the 2010 team.

Perryville at Herculaneum - Herky, the northern Blackcats beat a couple good teams, but their other 4 wins are against so-so teams. Perryville still not quite there yet.

Chaminade at Poplar Bluff - Bluff

St. Vincent at Jefferson - St Vincent.

North County at Fredericktown - Fredericktown. NC looks to have improved with a 5 & 3 record. Against like opponents I think Fredericktown has played those teams tougher, except NC beat Potosi very soundly last week. The 'Cats need to be up for this game.

Bowling Green at Park Hills Central - PHC, rebels should play the JV.

Cardinal Ritter at Sikeston - Sikeston. Maybe they need to play the JV too.

Cape Central at Festus- Battle of the Tigers, Festus started out the year with a bang, but are gonna be a little Banged up after this one, Cape Central.

Ste. Genevieve at Caruthersville- After many weeks of smack talk it's all come down to this.. The same fellas complimenting?? What?? I say NO FUN! I don't care who's hurt lets play. The Guru of Genivieve Bobby Weiler has Cville coaches brains hurting, Dragons.

Charleston at Chaffee-Charleston is going to roll, a lot. Only reason Chaffee won last week was due to atheletism They posses no such advantage this week. C'Town with a BEATDOWN.

Dexter at Malden- I think this is actually going to be close, Malden squeaks it out to continue winning ways

Kennett at East Prairie- Hedgehog said it all this Kennet Team is rolling into districts, with a crisp Offense and a D that rivals the Steel curtain. Actually Kennet possesses none of these, but will appear to against these little Chicklets. Indians

Francis Howell Central at Jackson- I'm way to lazy this week to look up how these STL teams are doing, a home game for Jackson, after playing respectable to Hickman.. Soo on a blind Guess Jackson.

New Madrid County Central at Portageville- Hard telling if Pville going to sit starters early with 1 seed locked up? Either way NMCC can't stop the run so either way this Pville will win.

Perryville at Herculaneum- This Pville on the other hand... Well at least they had 3 wins right?? I think Perryville puts up a little of a fight, however go home with a loss on their way to one and done districts style. Kitties by 2TDs

Chaminade at Poplar Bluff- Poplar Bluff is at least playing competitive games, so I see this one being a little closer than some might think, still gonna give the edge to the ?? Catholic Red Devils?

St. Vincent at Jefferson-Jefferson lost to Chaffee because of their Atheletes, and SV has more weapons. SV rolls up the Bluejays, Will also predict that SV sneaks up to the 3 seed on a Thayer loss to MG.

North County at Fredericktown- Blackcat Mascots go 2-0 this week, Fredmo looking forward to trying to knock off district foes in the next couple weeks

Bowling Green at Park Hills Central- PHC looks like the unanimous choice and like I said I am lazy this week. Rebels.

Cardinal Ritter at Sikeston- Their is going to be a lot of speed on this field!!! Gibbs is Superhuman form leads the Bulldogs past Ritter. Sikeston by 3Tds

12-3 Last Week, Couple of slips but I'll take it, I would be shocked if anyone was perfect w/ Valle losing. 22-4 on weeks I've guessed so far

-- Posted by BillShakespeare on Mon, Oct 15, 2012, at 11:27 AM

i actually might be able to go undefeated this week.

Cape Central at Festus... cape by 14. festus is hurting worse than c'vill is.

Ste. Genevieve at Caruthersville... as much as i'd like for c'ville to bring BG down a notch, it wont happen. SG by 20

Charleston at Chaffee... charles beats chafing. big time!

Dexter at Malden... dexter might make it close, the first quarter, no offense guys. malden by 23.

Kennett at East Prairie... kennett. i dont like east prairie. prairie isn't spelled like i think it should be.

Francis Howell Central at Jackson... this is the toughest one... i'll go with jackson. but it's gonna be really close.

New Madrid County Central at Portageville... ugly. just plain ugly. p'ville.

Perryville at Herculaneum... only one p'ville wins tonight... but both blackcats win.

Chaminade at Poplar Bluff... is it nade, nod, or nad? either way, they're driving home with a win.

St. Vincent at Jefferson... a typical football game when you play a jeffco team. it's ugly for the jeffco team. SV by a few tds.

North County at Fredericktown... freddy ends the season with a shutout (i hope). freddy wins 33-0

Bowling Green at Park Hills Central... i remember when bowling green used to be a powerhouse. but not this year. park hills might break their scoring record this game.

Cardinal Ritter at Sikeston... i also remember when a team played cardinal ritter, they knew they were gonna be walking off the field in pain. but sikeston rolls CR.

After reading about the Jackson game against Hickman and seeing there was truth to Selsor not starting at QB I think that is a very interesting move on the coaches part. I'm curious to see what happens this week considering it was so late in the season to make a change like that with a very respectful record.

I went 10-4 last week. Two important games for district play are St. Pius X at Valle Catholic and DeSoto at Potosi. Valle should win big but the other game looks like a toss-up to me. Give the nod to Potosi at home.

Also, in the Malden-Dexter game, one important factor is if Romello McCoy plays. He went out of the Kennett game last week with an injury. Will the coaches sit him as a precaution or play him in such a big rivalry game?

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Mon, Oct 15, 2012, at 10:41 PM

Just wondering what the impact of that Valle-STPX game is for districts?

I actually went 11-4 last week. Bill, if Portageville stumbles against NMCC this week and Valle wins big, it's at least possible they can steal the #1 seed. Right now, they are 4.2 points behind Portageville. It's not likely I admit because even if Portageville loses they still get points for playing up.

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Mon, Oct 15, 2012, at 10:59 PM

Even if Portageville loses by 13+ and Valle wins by 13+, I do not believe that it is possible for Valle to make up the ground on Portageville especially with the 20 points Portageville gets for playing up. Portageville is one of three teams in the area who seems to be a total lock for their one seed along with Caruthersville and Sikeston. Ste. Gen is just about a lock too but not 100% secure like the others (though I don't see them not being #1). Also, Jackson still has an outside shot at a #1 in their district in Class 5 but Summit seems like they will end up with it.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Mon, Oct 15, 2012, at 11:05 PM

Also, I went 13-2 last week. Only missed Chaminade-Cape and Valle-Herky.

Sideline, there's a mathematical possibility PHC can get the points to get the #1 slot in Class 3, but that would be appealed and most likely granted.

A few other races still up in the air:

Class 4, NC and Festus could swap #4 & #5

Class 3, NMCC and Dexter have a mathematical possibility to swap #5 & #6

Class 2 still has a few slots to settle: Charleston, Malden, Scott City, and Jefferson could mix up the order again this week.

Class 1 has Thayer and St Vincent in a possible swap with Hayti and Chaffee also possible switching seedings.

The District managers may have a busy Saturday with appeals after the games this week.

-- Posted by mojo3 on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 1:11 PM

Mojo3, even if Dexter overtook NMCC in points after this week, I'm sure they would appeal and win since they beat us head to head. I'm positive the NMCC coaches don't want to go back to Fredericktown after they just got trounced there.

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 2:53 PM

The thing is though Preach that if there is an appeal somewhere at the top between SG, PHC, and Freddy, then NMCC couldn't appeal over Dexter because I believe there can be only one seed appeal per district.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 2:56 PM

The appeals stuff seems like it could be a big mess with the new system. It might even end up being the biggest flaw of all. I didn't realize only one seed can appeal per district. I could see that upsetting some teams, just like the Dexter example that was given. Although, if you were to let multiple teams appeal, that would be a big jumbled mess and further complicate things. This is a problem that will probably be better evaluated after the season is over.

anyways heres my picks.

Agreed Buck. We need to see how this Saturday (appeal day) goes and evaluate from there. This new system will probably need some tweaking though every person seems to have their own "one problem" with it while liking most everything else and they all seem to be different problems that no one else minds. Not referring to anyone on here. Just general discussions I've had with people about it. I still maintain that I like this system immensely more than the old.

Ste. Genevieve at Caruthersville

STD....oh, I mean SG...but the good ol' boy southern ref connection "ain't gon'" tolerate 'nother team scorin' on their boys. (SG demolishes Cville, but I am willing to bet that they will have 2-3 scores called back by "penalties")

Kennett at East Prairie

Kennett..... because I own Farmland in Kennett.

Perryville at Herculaneum

Herculaneum was named afer Hercules.....Hercules can throw a football a quarter mile.

North County at Fredericktown

North County finds a way to get after Greminger and squeaks one out.....

Bowling Green at Park Hills Central

Central, duh.

In case you don't recognize them BG, they'll be the ones with the tar and feathers!

We would never waste our tar and feathers. We hillbillies in the flatland. We need the tar for them there roads and feathers for our pillows. We gentle folk we just want to see what them there northern SEMO guys look like. Do u get to wear shoes?

-- Posted by TFA on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 5:38 PM

Don't know Bleed, you might want to just stay on the highway!

-- Posted by mojo3 on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 5:42 PM

Daddy will be making the trip with me so I'm not gonna have much as far as backup haha but I wouldn't need it any ways! Were heading straight to Cville then grabbing a bite to eat then going to the game!!

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 6:07 PM

Be careful on the interstate by Sikeston. Miner cops like to patrol that area and I'm thinking that the police chief son plays on our team. Ummm what do you drive?? Hehehe!

A green Beetle license plate says BG SG #1haha

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 6:31 PM

Joking with you have a good trip to Caruthersville. I can't say I hope u win because I'm kinda partial to teams around here and I have alot of respect for cheesehead so I wouldn't want to wish his team anything but good.

-- Posted by TFA on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 6:39 PM

Thanks and SG will be fine if they play there game limit turnovers and penalties they should win hands down! Not knocking Cville but SG is just a better team

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 6:47 PM

BG, I picked Ste. Gen to beat a really banged up Caruthersville team, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if you come home with a loss. And how did you get Daddy to agree to a three-hour ride in the same car with you? Forget about the Sikeston fans, I'll be surprised if the two of you make it to Caruthersville without killing each other! LOL.

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 6:51 PM

For Ghits and Srins I will throw my hat into the predictions:

Cape Central

Ste. Genevieve

Chaffee (My huge upset for the week)

Malden (Maybe a 4TD+ blowout)

Kennett

Jackson

Portageville

Herculaneum

Chaminade

St. Vincent

North County

Park Hills Central

Sikeston (PLEASE DON'T DISAPPOINT)

-- Posted by Jolly Dump on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 7:02 PM

Preach no offense but you have been picking against SG all year and you been wrong 90% of the time I don't care if Cville is banged up so are we we have lost 4 starters and really really good ones this SG team is way better then what u saw week 1 even with the loss of an all state WR and corner and all Dist linebacker and d end! Me and daddy are friends he knows the real me not the act I put on here!!

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 7:58 PM

BG, once again your grasp of the facts or your memory one is suspect. I have said from the beginning of the season that the district championship runs thru Ste. Gen. If you go back and look at Sideline's weekly predictions threads, you will find I picked against Ste. Gen twice and one of those was when you lost to Maplewood. So far from being wrong 90% of the time, I've been right far more than I've been wrong.

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 8:13 PM

One of the biggest games in the state this Friday night is John Burroughs at Maplewood-Richmond Heights. It will be JB's biggest test this year and I think they'll pull it out on the road. What do the rest of you think?

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 8:32 PM

Burroughs will turbo clock them.

-- Posted by semohoops on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 9:29 PM

Ste.Gen has twice the student body Caruthersville has. One or two injuries to a Class 2 school can make or break a season. A school the size of Ste.Gen has numbers to where they can plug guys in. That is just facts. Ste.Gen is ranked in class 3 so I don't care how good Caruthersville is, Ste.Gen shoudln't never lose to them. I will say this, I feel if Caruthersville had that team healthy, St. Gen would be leaving Caruthersville with a loss. I still feel that Caruthersville will give them a good game, even with having a bunch of injuries. Don't thing Ste. Gen will roll in there and win with no problems because they just might fool you.

Going to throw this out there. I've seen both Sikeston and Ste.Gen play this year and Sikeston would win the majority of the time. They're defense is just to fast and smart.

-- Posted by Preacher Man Fan on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 9:46 PM

It's just a hunch I have. I think Burroughs is a rare breed in Class 3. I think they are very capable of competing with Class 4 and 5 schools on a statewide level. In fact, they may be better than any Class 4 school not named Webb City.

-- Posted by semohoops on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 9:48 PM

Wonder if the long bus ride will hurt SG,longest they had was about an hour this year.

-- Posted by hb1025 on Tue, Oct 16, 2012, at 10:59 PM

It can't help! I'm sure we will get a charter bus for them to ride in that's a long ride on a school bus! And Preach u picked PHC to beat SG didn't u? And I'm sure u picked Freddy as well

Grilled!

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Wed, Oct 17, 2012, at 10:35 AM

Just on paper the JBS - MRH game looks to be a barn burner. JBS has one of the top RB's in the state in Elliot - averaging 13.9 yards per carry with well over 1100 yards total and has scored 28 TD's for the year. MRH has one of the STL area passing leaders in Hagen. I suspect line play will be key in this game, if JBS can't contain #55 when he's on defense and he checks Elliot's runs, MRH wins.

-- Posted by mojo3 on Wed, Oct 17, 2012, at 11:10 AM

-- Posted by hb1025 on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 2:09 PM

It's about 140 miles from St. Gen to Caruthersville and almost all I-55. Cheese could probably give ya directions if he gets on here.

-- Posted by yah-yah on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 2:22 PM

Hey HB1025 you are on the internet, such a useful tool in finding directions.

-- Posted by wheresthebeef on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 2:29 PM

Go south on I-55 until you reach the Hayti exit. Make a left on 84 and follow that road you will pass 1 stoplight after wal-mart and sonic drive in, keep on going until you find a 4 way stop, bank on the left grizzly jig on the right, make a right there follow it all the way down until you see the high school, the field is right behind it.

Man, the excuses are out and we're only at half. Ste. Gen has never lost a game apparently. They've only almost won them.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 8:15 PM

C'mon you knew he would have excuses.

Bleed Green is like one of those dolls where you pull the string and it repeats one of several phrases.....

The Talking Bleed Green doll!!!

-- Posted by zachattack on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:20 PM

From the sound of it SG also had the refs go to along with those 6TO's!!! CHOKE ON IT BLEED GREEN!!!

-- Posted by cvilletiger02 on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:21 PM

A 500 hundred class 3 team looks to knock off the area's best!!! Sikeston has a great d... But very poor o...number 2 ranking out the door with a loss... Smh! Bleed is sg best in area?

-- Posted by He hate me on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:24 PM

Well we thought we had a touchdown but they called us for holding and then we fumbled

-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:25 PM

Central wins 24 to 15...Looks like we MIGHT get a home game next Thursday and rematch with Festus.

-- Posted by bulletman on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:27 PM

Think we lost this one and he hate me no one pulled charleston string

-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:28 PM

Final Ritter 24 Sikeston 16. Nine fumbles will do that to you. Unexcusable.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:28 PM

Sikeston lost 9 fumbles???

-- Posted by bulletman on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:35 PM

That was one hell of a game tonight in Caruthersville, I did not expect us to compete with Ste.Gen. when I looked at their massive depth especially on the line and thought we would get wore down. We never gave up, tackled well and CAUSED 6 turnovers, well one the receiver muffed the punt.

Green you can give people crap on here but you witnessed a good football team tonight I know you said you fumbled it but those were all caused by our guys stripping the ball, and on defense that is definitely a stop. So your theory of we did not stop you all night is invalid. I will say that our play call on that final offensive drive was kind of silly, you had it on the one inch line just go with a sneak off center. Carutherville proved that they can play with any team here in SEMO even with the 3 we had out that were impact players. Hats off to both teams you played a good game and kept it clean on and off of the field.

-- Posted by wheresthebeef on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:36 PM

I know they fumbled nine times. Don't know how many got recovered.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:37 PM

Cheese who ever from Cville I'm really impressed you guys deserved the win and yes you caused the fumbles #30 is a ball hawk!! I'm telling u right now Cville will beat MWood!! I said it Cville will beat MWood!!!

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:46 PM

Yeah Bleed all but 1 of the TO's were caused by us. Don't try and take away from a good effort from us. With all the injuries we have, I thought SG was going to win by double digits. Cville is a very good team, everyone will be back next year other than a couple guys so better things to come from Cville. If we get some of the injured guys back, Cville can hang with Maplewood. Mark it down. Great game by SG though. Made great adjustments at half and knew where Darrell was going to be at all times and slowed him down. He got well over 100 yards though. Terrana was held in check, it was the other guys who stepped up. SG is the real deal no lie. Their line is really good.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:46 PM

It was a great game to watch. Nice to meet you though Bleed, your not as bad as people think.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:47 PM

Sikeston......are you serious?????

Whoah. Not expected.

-- Posted by zachattack on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:48 PM

Also you to Daddy!

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:48 PM

I said this game was in no way a given tonight.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:49 PM

I'm sure Gibbs will give them hell next week. Sometimes you learn from a loss, not all losses are a bad thing.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:51 PM

Oh, I know. I'm not too upset over the loss. We still get the one seed in the district, won conference, and hopefully have had a fire lit under the boys. Congrats on Caruthersville getting the one seed in their district too Cheese.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 9:58 PM

John Burroughs beat Maplewood 44-6.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:01 PM

Thanks Sideline, same goes to you about your Dawgs. Man I'm so proud of Cville tonight! Best they've played all year IMO.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:01 PM

Malden and Charleston both finish 7-2 so who's number 2?

-- Posted by MaldenGreenwaveSports on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:03 PM

We are waiting for the Malden-Dexter game to get inputted on the MSHSAA website. Once it is put in, it will get added to the formula and we will know.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:05 PM

Thanks sideline

-- Posted by MaldenGreenwaveSports on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:05 PM

Malden played up in class so I would think they would get the node at the 2 spot.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:06 PM

Just came in. Malden will have the two over Charleston. That is huge. I will have a full bracketology report on all districts later tonight.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:06 PM

Malden will have the 2 spot since they played up a class tonight and won by 13 and Charleston played down so I think that point spread will squeak them out ahead it will be known Monday though.

-- Posted by wheresthebeef on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:07 PM

That will be a game I would want to see! Charleston has improved over the season and so has Malden! Instant Classic in the making.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:08 PM

Dammit sideline imma kick your tail for Kanye Westin me.

-- Posted by wheresthebeef on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:08 PM

By 0.51 we get the 2

-- Posted by MaldenGreenwaveSports on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:09 PM

Aww get ur panties out ur butt... I pulled your string... I actually attended the game, good game to got their in 2nd quarter & I'm glad I did!!! Yea they called that td back from gross, but I was on visitors side at goal line the whole game & I think porter was stripped just short of the line on that interception too... Fair enough..

-- Posted by He hate me on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:09 PM

Charleston not play tonight? Nothing is in my butt thank you and pretty sure I wasn't griping about the td being called back was stating on here what happened! Duh! I'm not upset about the loss kinda figured it was going to happen but just tired of ppl who has no stake in the game bad mouthing us. I never say anything bad about another team. I usually find something good to say like Cardinal Ritters qb has an arm on him he threw that ball like a bullet. When we played Charleston I talked about how fast one of your players was. But I guess it just depends on what type of person u are

-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:36 PM

Still up in the air TFA. We are waiting for the Perryville score to be added to the MSHSAA district points formula.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:38 PM

desoto

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:38 PM

Scratch that, what sideline said lol

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:39 PM

It does look like it will be Desoto which is crazy since they somehow beat Potosi this week. What happened to formerly state ranked Potosi?

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:39 PM

Malden will host St. Pius X (Festus) Thursday

-- Posted by MaldenGreenwaveSports on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:40 PM

So are all games on Thursday?

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:40 PM

Teams have the choice. They are scheduled for Friday but if both teams agree to it, they can play on Thursday instead. I have to believe most teams will agree to Thursday games since they will get an extra day before the next round then.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:41 PM

Sideline--Coach Norman seemed to think Central would be at home on Thursday versus Festus again You seen anything on that?

-- Posted by bulletman on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:46 PM

They will be. It will be a rematch in Cape between the two next week. I'm literally only waiting for the Perryville game to get submitted before I can do the full bracketology thread.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:47 PM

All 1 seeds are locked down.

C1-Portageville

C2-Caruthersville

C3-Ste.Gen

C4-Sikeston

C5-Jackson

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:48 PM

IF, notice I said if, we win Thursday they said the next game would be on Halloween which is a Wednesday. Why would they schedule a game on that night? Poor kids won't get any candy from my house!

-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:49 PM

It will be on the Wednesday after. Then, the district finals would be on a Monday. After that, each game is on a Saturday.

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:50 PM

Thanks for the info I'm done for the night been up since 4am too old to stay up late.

-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 10:56 PM

Burroughs turbo clocked Maplewood. I think someone resembling semohoops predicted that.

-- Posted by semohoops on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 11:00 PM

Ok, maybe it wasn't a turbo clock, but a comfortable victory nonetheless.

-- Posted by semohoops on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 11:03 PM

Are you saying semopoops made an appearance?

-- Posted by sideline starter on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 11:04 PM

Nah, I'm just pulling a Barry Horowitz and patting myself on the back lol

-- Posted by semohoops on Fri, Oct 19, 2012, at 11:35 PM

Lol... Lol...lol... U guys kill me... Way too soft tfa.. I mean did I lie? Like you said ' it's jus a loss' so get over it man, I commented oh well... My right fella

I told u before I'm a female!

-- Posted by TFA on Sat, Oct 20, 2012, at 7:50 AM

It was a good game but it's over time to move on and yes Cville will b good next year very good!! Butt IMO if and if's a big word but if we dont fumble 6 times We win by 21 you couldn't stop our offense unless we fumbled and yes I know you caused them but they gotta hold on to ball! That's great coaching by your coaches to strip the ball!! I was really surprised Cville has a bad reputation as a town but I saw nothing but classy fans thanks cheese it was fun but just to darn close!! But if Cville can get healthy they will beat MWood!!

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Sat, Oct 20, 2012, at 8:41 AM

If SG's Defense wasn't as good as it is they would probably be 3-6 right now with the amount of times they've given the ball away in big games.

-- Posted by Kzar on Sat, Oct 20, 2012, at 9:20 AM

Bleed Green...your previous post here was much "nicer" than your post following my summary! ;-) You are correct, it was a good game, and "if" is a big word. "If" it weren't for the turnovers, it would not have been a 1 point game. We definitely were not stopping your base running game. Best of luck in the playoffs!

all i've got to say is monroe is one of the best backs i've seen in awhile. especially crippled up. he's a monster. c'ville is THE most underrated team in semo. should be ranked at least #7 in the polls.

unbiased opinion of the game at c'ville. c'ville should have won. with all the turnovers SG had, it should have been a 35-21 c'ville win. if SG doesn't turn the ball over every other possession i think SG would have won 35-14. for caruthersville having basically the same 11 guys in on all 3 facets of the game, they are the most in shape team i've ever seen. c'ville has 4 kids that would start at almost any team in SEMO. the qb is a stud. reminds me of marler from potosi with his arm and faulkner with his legs. monroe reminds me of eli jackson but reads his holes a little better and is more shifty than jackson was. #8 reminds me of joey lewandowski from fredericktown but with better hands (and a receiver not a rb, #30 was a freakin ball hawk all night and could sure as heck lay the lumber!

c'ville did a pretty good job of containing terrana. double team worked about 75% of the time. but terrana made it count when he got through. c'ville is one of the most fundamentally sound football teams i've seen this year. there were maybe 3 or 4 missed tackles all game.

SG did a great job of taking what c'ville gave them. just couldn't hold on to the f'ing ball! c'ville took advantage of it and made it a game.

SG better not play half that bad if they even want to think about playing JB. everyone else on their schedule except maybe, potosi, desoto, and perryville would have beaten SG by 20 points if they had 6 TO's. heck freddy would have won by 70!

if c'ville can play like this the rest of the year and get everyone as close to 100% as possible by the time MWRH comes around (assuming they make it that far) i say they go to state.

great to meet you cheese and beef. don't group me in with BG though please!

-- Posted by TheDaddy on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 1:11 AM

Nice to meet you to Daddy! We will be getting some players back in the next couple weeks and hopefully we can escape districts so we can get another chance at Maplewood. I think we have a great chance at them this year.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 8:50 AM

Daddy,

I'm gonna have to disagree with you regarding your comparison regarding #8 from C-ville. Comparing him to J. Lewandowski is doing a great disservice to JL. Lewandowski was one of the toughest players this region has seen over the last few years. Although I've only seen C-ville play once, #8 didn't do much that I recall (unless you count waving at the crowd and whining to the refs). He may have had one of the long toughdown catches, but any one of us on here could have caught those due to the blown coverage by SG. That is a big stretch to compare those two.

-- Posted by kools&oe on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 10:41 AM

Daddy told me one of c'ville's big play makers is playing hurt and still had a monster game even if he's at 80% or so. Hope y'all can get him healthy before you meet MRH!

-- Posted by mojo3 on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 11:06 AM

Bleed Green that #30 kid is good

-- Posted by ballsohard on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 12:15 PM

from cville

-- Posted by ballsohard on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 12:16 PM

It was good meeting you too Daddy, I would use your name but you told me not to lol. I know we should have scored that last time we had the ball on the 1 inch line without the aid of a camera shot on the goal line or whatever it should have never been questionable. Caruthersville does not have alot of depth so yeah those guys have to play the whole game and for the most part give 100% both ways. With that win Ste. Gen has to get alot of credit with losing in most facets of the game except the final score.

Alot of people do not understand that Monroe plays defensive end and is rushing that passer with everything he has the whole time he is on D and then goes out and carries the ball almost 20 times per game with pretty good results.

Wish the rest of the teams from here on out the best because its win and move on or LOSE and get ready for the hardwood.

-- Posted by wheresthebeef on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 2:24 PM

8's speed reminds me of ole lewandowski. his athleticism, not his demeanor or toughness. he did seem a little cocky. he got tackled and gave a little shoulder shrug to stolzer! and whined half the time he was in! that kid is probably comparable in speed to lewandowski and talent. but doesn't seem to use it.

and if people on here don't realize who i am by now, then they never will! heck BG and i were getting called out personally about 3 times a day on semopsportsweb... people on here just think i'm some average joe i guess. ;)

-- Posted by TFA on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 7:29 PM

I'd say SG won the line? Won the Rushing game won on Defense so how can u say they got beat at every phase? The only 2 phases they lost was turnovers and the passing game!! Seriously u really think u win that game if we don't turn ball over 6 times? No u loose by at least 21 and u know it you couldn't stop our run or are line dang I know u ain't blind I meet u you look and acted shy but I would to meeting a guy like me!! Haha

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 7:53 PM

Last thing im saying on the game is this.

I talked to the guy at the DA who writes articles on the games and he said the turnovers was SG 5 CVILLE 2. Saying you would have won by 21 if you didnt have the turnovers would be like saying we would have won if we would have caught more passes, or made a few extra blocks. Coulda woulda shoulda, its all hypothetical. Fact is, you were 1 point better. Move on to the next game.

Btw- i wasnt shy one bit lol

-- Posted by SGFAN on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 8:25 PM

Based off what? Facts? Or Hypothetical ifs ands or buts? I cant help SG fumbled so many times. You make it out to be a bad thing Cville didnt fumble but once.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 8:29 PM

it was bad for SG that c'ville only fumbled once!

-- Posted by TheDaddy on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 8:49 PM

You ain't Beef either!!! Geez you and beef keep this going look what he wrote he said Cville beat SG at every phase! And that's a big fat lie!! And u know it so tell beef to drop it cause I'll keep throwing facts in your face all u want!!

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 9:20 PM

But don't u think that if your opponent fumbles 5 or 6 times u should win especially being as good as u say u are? I'm telling u right now u fumble 6 times against us we score 70 cause u had no answer for are run!

-- Posted by Bleed Green on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 9:24 PM

Poor, poor horse it was beat to death and they are still hitting it. RIP horse

-- Posted by TFA on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 9:30 PM

Is this argument still going on? Would you have won by more than 1 point had Caruthersville turned the ball over 5 times, yes. I don't see how you can sit there and say that Ste. Gen is so much better than Caruthersville based off of that, bc if they were that much better, they wouldn't have fumbled! Drives are stopped for many reasons, not just a defense forcing punts! There were two or three times throughout the game, that Caruthersville had drives stopped by penalties or bad snaps. You don't see Caruthersville fans on here saying anything about that. The game is over. What is the point in arguing who is better at this point in the season? They play in different classes and we should be rooting for both teams to make a deep run in the playoffs.

-- Posted by Spike Lee Corso on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 9:59 PM

I agree Spike Lee Corso, BG I was saying we won in total yards, turnover margin, and we beat ya in the passing game and in most cases that team usually comes out on top. I was congratulating Ste. Gen on the win and you are still taking away from 14-17 year old kids efforts on a good game. The game is over we can talk about another game next year some time. You guys forced 4 punts 1 fumble 2 turnover on downs, we forced 5 fumbles and 2 punts and 1 turnover on downs..we were **** near equal on rushing and had 100 yards on ya in the passing game.

Here is the quote where you got where I said we won in most phases of the game I stated your team has to get a lot of credit for coming out on top but you continue to beat my team into the ground.

"With that win Ste. Gen has to get alot of credit with losing in most facets of the game except the final score."

You took what I said as something bad when I was saying that Ste. Gen was a good team by still winning where in most cases the team with that many turnovers gets blown out. You seem to always find the negative and blow it way out of proportion you are 35 so I am guessing you can let this go now and go out there and cheer your team on and forget about this game?

-- Posted by wheresthebeef on Mon, Oct 22, 2012, at 10:43 PM

I want to make shure I get it rite now. It's the kids who play the games and the adults who talk about it, is that rite?
