CHS2MRH- The majority of us Caruthersville fans don't feel that way about Maplewood. We respect that football program. Caruthersville get's the same kind of repuation here in the bootheel as Maplewood does up north when it comes to being "thugs". When your school becomes a winner on a consistent basis, people find reason's to bash them. So don't take a few people from Caruthersville calling them thugs as if that's the majority of us fans from Caruthersville because that's not the case.

I may get on here and argue back and forth with He Hate Me, but at the end of the day, if they were to beat my Tigers, I'd root for them to win it all. I support all Semo teams and try to keep from gettig to hyped up over a sports forum. There are more important issue's in life to get stressed over than this.

Cheesehead and Beef, I would love to meet all you guys, if we both are fortunate to make it past our district. I will have on the big blue stadium coat or just ask for Coach Frazier. I met a ton of cville fans over the past few years. Coach Heeb and I use to stand on the sideline before the games and point out our athletes and talk hoops. We have never exchanged unpleasant things. I recall our fans last season, standing on the field after the game patting your guys team on the back for good game and really paying respect to cville. Like every year when we play you guys. People are entitled to their opinions about how they see a certain team. I don't get into all that. Its been going on since my old Charleston days. I for one dont like unsportsmanlike conduct, but hey a lot factors in to that. Refs have control of the game right? Kick them out if they doing late hits. Send the message. This stuff is beyond coaches, it starts way before HS. It starts at home. So we have to blame parents, coaches and officials. Just my take. No matter what, someone will not agree.

The boys are looking good, rounding into shape, we still missing like 6,7 football guys but they're vets they'll catch right up!! We've been scrimmaging the team for about a month now... I'll know more in the next coming wk or so..

Cheese, that "thug" label was exactly the type of demographic name calling I was talking about on the "first round thread." Of course I was lumped in the naughty post for it, but oh well. I agree with you, it is unfortunate that many fans and teams resort to such name calling and labeling for schools that have diversity.

Caruthersville is more balanced that Charleston. We have Monroe yes, but we also have a QB who can throw and run. Along with other running backs who produce as well. We proved the first meeting we are more than Monroe.

Our first matchup, the linemen were a little intimidated. Football hiked over head or toolow which threw off the plays. Cville bust straight through the line with no problem, QB didn't have a chance. Monday night, I believe it will be a much different game because the line has gotten stronger and I believe they will be ready. For Charleston the QB has been doing a great job considering he only got the job at the end of last season, after not qbing at all plus it seems like hes the only qb who has to play both ways as most of our team does. For me that says a lot about our boys, they are tough! Without a decent qb its hard to win games and I believe our losses came from the best two teams in our area. Hopefully Monday night will be a very competitive game no matter the outcome. I'm proud of our Blue Jays they made it farther than they have made it in years. So my hat goes off to them, rather they win or lose Monday night! Teamball is always the key

I agree silentplayer. Teams like Cville and Charleston have to play guys both ways because the roster isn't big at all. Smaller schools have to do it that way. Our QB plays on defense sometimes but not every play. I respect the Bluejay football team. They are starting to build a solid football program.

I'd like to remind all you Charleston fans that during week three that we MORE than showed you all that we were more than just Monroe. (After trying to take him, along with several other of our starters out of the game with dirty shots....which you succeeded in doing.) Our freshman quarterback scored on you towards the end of the game! We played at least HALF of that game WITHOUT Monroe and BEAT YOU! Granted your team has improved since then....well...so have we! We'll just let these boys do all the talking out on the field and we shall see what we shall see!

Jebbie we were both at the MW game last year did you see any thuggish activity during the game? I thought it was a well played game by both teams. I know you coach youth softball just use that if you were in that situation and someone used slander to describe your kids. I will be at the C-town game if you wanna talk football but let these young men play on the field.

Jebbie is not a bad guy, I think he was going off of the incident that happened at the Ste. Gen game and that fight a few weeks ago that got the game cancelled in the first half. I know from both games that I watched with us playing them they got along fine with our team. I know the other game was probably frustration by the team that had to come in and play MRH and was getting beat bad, one thing goes awry and the team that has nothing to lose anyways is going to retaliate so what if the game gets cancelled they were just getting beat anyways.

The Ste. Gen game was probably just a bunch of mouthing between the players and the REFEREES did not do a good enough job and controlling the situation. If a kid is that bad out of line they should be penalized correctly and if they continue to cause problems they should be ejected.

If we make it past Charleston and play MW again I think it will be a well mannered game I know they have a new coach and I am not sure if anything has changed since last year but they have alot of the same guys on the team so I figure they will keep it clean and play til the whistle blows. I know the players helped each other up last year, I didn't see anyone do anything out of the ordinary.

They've been passing the ball some; and, surprisingly, with a lot of success; just enough to keep the defense a little off balance. Hull has improved tremendously since the beginning of the season...but, the best pass defense is a good pass rush and if my memory serves me right, C'ville had a pretty good pass rush in that first game.

I'd like to interject there Bleed Green! Monroe is a good kid and a very mild mannered young man and is not even close to being cocky...on or off the field. His play on the field speaks for itself. He has no need to be cocky. Someone (who sounds like they might be a bit jealous since they are not coaching anymore)misled you dude.

That's smart coaching for you!Why wouldn't you double a guy like that? Two of our stud lineman were out of the game so we were playing guys with not much exp. So why not double him? Sounds like a good coach to me. He was not effective most of the night. He got through a couple times but nothing like what I thought he was going to do to us. Darrell get's doubled all the time but he finds a way to get back there and put pressure on the QB or make the play at the runner. I just wish you wouldn't believe everything you hear from every school you go to. There are always jealous people who will tear a coach or a kid down to make themselves feel better.

How do you figure I hide behind Mr. Monroe, I sit at the 50 yard line about half way up and I am there just about every game. Mr. Monroe (I call him Mr because he has earned my respect by his actions on and off the field)is a beast no doubt and just my opinion there is no other kid in this area that can come close to his tallent level. Last time we lost to Charleston was Nov. 1 2007. We lost to everyone that year. That was the year we had to the tornado and didn't have a school, football field, weight room, or anything that resembled a real high school. Tough times for the kids in that class. I will never forget them having to go to class in trailers and having to share Hayti's football field. Cville went 0-10 that year. That was Caruthersville's only bad year since 2000 if my memory serves me correct. IF Caruthersville wins Monday night, they would have won districts the last 9 of 10 years. Not to bad. I still expect a competitive game Monday night. Charleston always plays with no fear and I can respect that.

The refs just turned their heads. And there were lots of late hits that night as there has been at other games we've played. We've had LOTS of bad calls too! But it happens. We ARE the underdogs still at this point. We haven't been BLOWN OUT yet by many. Now when we beat East Prairie...66-0 for the 66th time we've been playing them. THAT'S a blow out my friend. But everyone knows at this time of their season they can't compete with us right now at this level. Everyone has their season. These boys from Charleston have come together and are playing their game...for the love of the game. They have passion and heart! That's why I said you could NEVER compete. It's not about the score at this point...it's the fact that they were 0-10 in 2010 and they have dedicated themselves for one purpose. ONE DREAM! They've brought our team back alive...our fans...and our community! We've broken records this year that hasn't been done in 10 years. Beat teams we've never beat or hadn't beat in a long long time. They've made us proud and again...we're proud to get to play Caruthersville again. It really is an honor! I'll have to pass on that snack too. An apology though I will take for calling me whatever "BLEEPING BLEEPING BLEEPING" means...lol You need to calm yourself before you start blowing gaskets! Thanks Cheesehead! I was just curious. I had no idea about the tornado devistation that took place. So sorry to hear about all of that. But good to know that it didn't take them long to bounce back. I looked at their stats and that is VERY impressive and much to be proud of. Charleston has always dominated in State titles with basketball, but we've not been that fortunate in football. They're trying though! Gotta give them the credit they deserve. And I appreciate your attitude. Do u have any boys or are all your hunters girls? See hunting I wouldn't of been interested in at all as a young girl I was playing bball and baseball with the boys and girls on the street. I didn't do the fishing either I can't sit still for all that.

TFA 3 girls and a Boy my son is only 2 but is he fun he dosnt talk a whole alot but if I say "We Are" he says SG it's awesome he's a football nutt!! But when he gets older and if he wants to play football We will proably move to st louis since the girls will be in college and enroll him at MICDS!! That's a great school and program!
