Wrestling
Posted by grappler on Tue, Feb 9, 2010, at 3:26 PM:

Thought I would start a blog of people interested in High School Wrestling. I have two sons that wrestle for Notre Dame. Love this sport. Never thought I would say those words when they first started but it is a great sport that really teaches the boys about character. It is one of the if not THE toughest sport out there. Go Bulldogs!!!

Can't say that I'm a wrestling fan, as I've never watched a match (WWF/WWE doesn't count). However, I was glad to see Notre Dame pick up wrestling. It's always good to see ND adding new extra-curricular options.

Practice has begun and wonder what weight everybody will be at this year. I bet some have grown a lot. Who are the studs this year?

We don't know yet for sure. Fat test will be tuesday and that will determine the weight classes. My son will probably be the 119lb.

Did ND have a good recruiting class?

Looking forward to the Tiger Classic. Wonder who all will be there this year? Jackson should be strong this year! Dexter should be ok too. Farmington is always good. Lots of good wrestlers coming back.

Thursday we start the wrestling season and the quest for a state title. I love me some wrestling. I think there will be some new teams in the hunt this year. New names on the list of outstanding wrestlers. Good luck to all!!

Jackson and Farmington will be the class of SEMO wrestling again this year. Steve Wachter just reloads year after year. The Parkway South tourney was "big time". Go Indians!

Papi give us some details about this weekend. Who all won?

Word from James brake @ Central is that there are three out of state teams coming to the Tiger Classic this year. One from Kentucky, one from Tennessee (Memphis) and one from Alabama.

Should be a fun time in old Tiger Field House this year.

Grappler, drop me a line - pcsoutheast@gmail.com. Big news about ND wrestling I got for you.

Sorry I'm a little late Buzzard Bill but I think there were 5 that won championships and 3 more that wrestled in the championship matches. They beat a lot of impressive schools but they may not be the best in Southeast Missouri. Farmington may give them all they want in a duel meet. It will be interesting to see it at Farmington Feb.1st.

Yea I would like to see that myself. Both have very good programs. They seem to be able to get the kids out.

Just to let you know Blake Angle is fine. No broken bones and he's wrestling great.
