Here is a schedule for this year's ASU Playday. The volleyball tournament will take place September 26th. The tournament is divided into two divisions. Black division teams will only play teams in the black division. Scarlet division teams will only play teams in the scarlet division. Scott City is the defending champion in the black division. Pool play begins at 8:00 a.m. with Team 2 playing Team 3 in each pool.

Note: Black division bracket play will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Convocation Center. Scarlet division bracket play will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Valley View. The main court will not be used during this year's tournament for only the second time in the 22 year history of the tournament. Concerts are scheduled to take place on Friday and Sunday at the Convocation Center. Tournament officials said it would have cost an additional $1,000 to put the floor down for the one day event. The decision alters the tournament significantly from its usual format. The championship game of the gold bracket in the black division will take place on court ABCD. The side court has very limited seating. The decision has a more significant impact on the scarlet division. All of the bracket games for the scarlet division will be played at Valley View this year. In the past, all bracket games for the scarlet division were played at the Convocation Center.

It doesn't appear anyone is interested in the upcoming ASU tournament. However, if anyone is interested two teams have switched divisions. St. Agnes has been moved to the black division. Lonoke has been moved to the scarlet divsion. St. Agnes is now listed as Team 4 in Pool 1. Lonoke is now listed as Team 1 in Pool 6.

I was planning on providing score reports on Saturday. Several local teams are in the tournament. However, are any volleyball fans reading this forum?

Enjoyed the main court last year, but not sure how it will work out this year on sidelines!

Traditionally the ASU Tournament is stronger than the SEMO Tournament. Several public and private schools in the Jonesboro should provide great competition to Scott City. There are several schools with only one loss heading into the tournament. Saturday will be exciting even without the main court. However, I agree playing the championship game on court ABCD is unfortunate. It is also disappointing teams in the scarlet division will be forced to play bracket games at Valley View. I will try to post some scores tomorrow. If you are reading the scores try to reply so I will know I am not wasting my time.

Crowley's Ridge Academy claimed the Gold Bracket of the Scarlet Division, beating Puxico in the championship match.

Crowley's Ridge Academy (15-4) won the Gold bracket in the Scarlet Division, downing Puxico 15-25, 25-19, 15-7 in the final.
