Stoddard County Volleyball Tournament

Does anyone know the seedings for the upcoming Stoddard County Volleyball Tournament? In my opinion, this is one of the most balanced tournaments in years. When is the last time this conference did not have a state ranked team entering the tournament? It is one of those years where the number 1 seed may not have much of an advantage over the number 5 seed. I honestly believe five teams could win this year's tournament. Here is how I would seed the teams based on their current records. Does anyone have the real seedings?

1. Bloomfield

2. Dexter

3. Bell City

4. Advance

5. Puxico

6. Bernie

7. Woodland

8. Richland

drawmules, we were just talking about the Stoddard Co. Confrence volleyball tournment tonight...question...where is it being held this year?

Great question. I am unsure. The tournament normally rotates in alphabetical order. Last year the tournament was held at Dexter. The year before the tournament was held at Puxico. Dexter and Puxico switched years for some reason. I believe it is Richland's turn to hold the tournament. But don't quote me on that.

I think they have the coaches meeting on Wednesday night to determine the seedings. Bell City should be ranked 1st they are undefeaded in conference. The tournament is at Richland this year.

Has Bell City played Bloomfield or Dexter?

Correct me if I am wrong.

Bloomfield defeated Dexter

Bloomfield won the Gideon tournament

Who won between Bloomfield and Advance?

Advance and Puxico?

If Bell City has a win against Bloomfield or Dexter I agree they should be seeded above Bloomfield.

Thanks for the update on where the action is, sure wish we could come watch but that is the same time as the Mississippi Valley Conference Tourn. at Zalma. Should be some good games that come down to the wire with the Stoddard Co. Tourn. drawmules, will you be keeping us updated on the conference tounrement here on semoball? Hope so.

I won't make any promises. I'll definitely be at the championship game. But the Cardinals could impact my attendance in the first round and the semi-finals. I have to save up some energy for the district volleyball tournaments. I would love to here more about the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament.

Bloomfield hasn't played Bell City they don't play until after the tournament. Bell City has beat everybody else. Bloomfield has been beat by Puxico so they should be seeded second.

I am updating my seeding predictions. The seed meeting is Wednesday night.

I predict the seedings will be

1. Bell City

2. Bloomfield

3. Dexter

4. Puxico

5. Advance

6. Bernie

7. Woodland

8. Richland

I think the Stoddard County Conference Tournament will be really exciting this year, too. Seems to be a lot of evenly-matched teams in it this year. At the SEMO Classics, Advance beat Bloomfield and then went on to win the Silver Bracket Championship while Puxico won the Bronze Bracket Championship and then just this past week Puxico knocked off Bloomfield and Advance. I was told tonight that Bloomfield, though, beat Advance in two sets in regular season.

I'd watch to see how far Puxico goes. They've improved a lot and have some really strong servers on their team. I haven't seen Dexter play but I know they gave Leopold a pretty good game up at the SEMO Classics and Bell City, although their record is a little down from last year, is still the team to beat led by their star player Jasmine Johnson.

I don't think Dexter got enough love at the seed meeting. They made the gold bracket at the SEMO Tournament. They also made the gold bracket in the top division of the ASU tournament. I would be shocked if Dexter finishes 4th in the tournament. I think they will finish better than 4th.

How are the JV teams doing, drawmules? I think the Bloomfield-Puxico game should be pretty exciting. Puxico defeated them in two sets in regular season. They have several really strong servers and are very scrappy.

Should be good games any one of these teams can beat each other on any given night. This is also true for the varsity games.

Looks like the coaches got the seeds pretty much on target....despite all the 2nd guessing. Nice job to all the teams competing in the 3rd and 1st place games.

The only second guessing statement I made on this forum was that I felt like Dexter would finish better than 4th. I believe they still have the opportunity to do that tommorow.

Dexter should have been the third seed and will finish third. they did give Bell city a good game. Dexter has the talent, but not the coaching. Good luck to Bell City and Bloomfield.

I agree Dexter should have been the third seed. If you attend the game please post the results after the game is over. If anyone attends the games please post the results. I will be at a football game on Friday evening. I will be anxiously awaiting the results of the Dexter / Puxico game and Bloomfield / Bell City game, however. I hope to see the results posted on this thread as soon as the games have ended!

I didn't stay for the championship games, my daughter plays on the Puxico JV team, and she has a band competition tomorrow in Park Hills, so we wanted to get her home for some sleep before tomorrow!

A new volleyball dynasty is developing in Stoddard County. Bloomfield is rapidly building one of the strongest programs in the area. Don't be surprised if this program does special things in upcoming seasons. They must be doing something right in Bloomfield. It's not often a school besides Dexter wins both the JV and Varsity championships.

Also, I totally agree with drawmules... Bloomfield is great, and at any given time, each of the top 4 teams on the JV side have beat each other. Stoddard County volleyball is very strong!
