Jackson track and field coach Jim Stoverink may have lost his voice from running around and yelling too much on Saturday, but other than that, the Jackson Invitational turned out pretty well. The Indians swept the team titles as the girls squad won the home meet, held at Jackson Junior High School, for the fourth consecutive year while the boys team ran away with the title after falling a 1/2 point short last year...

Erin Unerstall ~ Southeast Missourian ~ 04/08/16
The Saxony Lutheran baseball team spent several minutes perched near the batting cages at the Crusaders’ home field following their game against Zalma on Friday afternoon in the Oak Ridge Invitational. Coach Paul Sander and his squad were disappointed in the continued lack of hitting and made sure to discuss that during their postgame chat, but Sander also made sure his guys understood that he was pleased they were able to grind out a 5-1 victory over the visiting Bulldogs...

I predict that Zalma will be hard to beat next year. They would give other teams a run for their money now if they had more players.

Watch out Lepold!!

Zalma Bulldogs your doing great keep up the good work.

UPDATED SCHEDULE -

There have been some changes to our schedule that have not been added on here yet.

*The Sept. 21 game against Greenville has been moved to October 5. It is still a home game and starts at 6 p.m.

*The weekend of September 18-19 is the Puxico JV Tournament. Pool play lasts all evening Friday followed by bracket play Saturday morning. We play Puxico at 4:30 p.m. followed by Doniphan at 6:45 p.m. and Richland at 8:15 p.m. We will be playing in the gymnasium, not the multipurpose building/cafeteria. Depending on how we do in pool play, we will either play at 9 or 9:45 a.m. Saturday.

*October 9 we play Eagle Ridge Christian Academy (Cape Girardeau) at 6 p.m. It's an away game. Since it's our first time playing them, for those who don't know where the school is located, it's on Route K out past Wal-Mart and is located on the right-hand side of the road right before you get to Notre Dame Regional High School (if you're coming from Cape Wal-Mart).

*October 15-17 is the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament for junior varsity and varsity teams. We are hosting the conference tournament this year. Teams in our conference include us, Leopold, Meadow Heights, Marquand-Zion, Oak Ridge, and Greenville. Times and schedules to be announced at a later date.

*October 26-27 is the Class 1 District 3 Tournament at Saxony Lutheran High School in Jackson/Fruitland. Times and schedules to be announced at a later date.
