Jackson overcame a one-point halftime deficit and outscored the Doniphan Donettes 8-2 over the final 2 minutes to break a tie and come away with a 45-39 win.
"We had our chances," Doniphan coach Jimbo Blackwell said.
The Donettes (6-3, 1-2 SEMO) got the game off to a good start and held a five-point lead after the first quarter before the Jackson defense turned up the pressure.
"Their half-court man is very good," Blackwell said.
Jordan Hart scored 15 points to lead Doniphan, which led 22-21 at halftime. Chelsea Swindle hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points for the Donettes.
"Both Jordan and Chelsea stepped up and played well," Blackwell said. "Chelsea hit some big 3s for us."
Malden 54, New Madrid 52: Ashley Dean scored the final four points of the game for the Lady Wave as they won on the road Thursday night.
"The girls came out and fought through the fatigue," Malden coach Chris Hicks said. "I was pleased with how they performed last night."
Dean was the high scorer with 13 points for the Lady Wave and Trilla McCoy added 11. Hylisha Hill scored seven points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
"All night we had different girls stepping up when we needed them to," Hicks said. "Each quarter a different player was stepping up for us."
Shameika Williams led New Madrid with 18 points and Tameika Williams added 18.
"The twins got their points but we limited (New Madrid) to just those two getting their points which was key," Hicks said.
Naylor 53, Neelyville 28: Cheyenne Hollowell led the Lady Eagles with 15 points and Hailee Deckard added 14 as they improved their record to 11-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Ozark Foothills Conference.
Freshman Chelsey Maupin led the Lady Tigers (4-8, 2-5 OFC) with 13 points.
Holly Deckard provided a spark off the bench for the Lady Eagles, finishing with eight points.
"Holly came in and hit back-to-back 3s," Naylor coach Stephana Deckard said. "She's playing better, and we are going to need her for districts."
Although she was impressed with her team's defensive effort, coach Deckard said her team struggled to score inside the paint.
"We did the worst job so far this year of finishing the layups and 'give me' shots," she said.
Thayer 60, Van Buren 56: The Lady Dawgs outscored Thayer 18-13 in the fourth quarter but fell by four points Thursday night.
Whitney Van Winkle made three 3-pointers as she led the Lady 'Dawgs with 18 points in the loss. Marie Getts had 15 points and Britney Peterson finished with 13 points.
Meadow Heights 56, Clearwater 46: The Lady Panthers netted six 3-pointers to earn the road win.
"They hit four 3s in the first quarter and we never got back after that," Clearwater coach Heather Evans said.
Amanda Hendrickson led the Lady Panthers with 19 while Gina Cureton finished with 11 and Chelsey Kight added 10.
Meadow Heights (4-6) jumped out to a 16-11 lead after the first quarter and a 31-23 lead at halftime.
The Lady Tigers (3-7) shot over 65 percent from the freethrow line, but their output still did not impress their coach who said, "13-of-19 to me is not very good."
BOYS
Ellington 60, East Carter 31: The Whippets jumped out to a 17-2 first quarter lead Thursday night.
"We came out and had some pretty good intensity," Ellington coach Chris Miller said. "On defense, we trapped well and finished on offense -- our emphasis was to pound the ball inside."
Brad Baysinger was the leading scorer for the Whippets with 18 points.
"He played a pretty good game for us," Miller said. "He was real consistent even when they went to zone (defense) he found the holes in the zone."
Notre Dame 73, Dexter 40: Dexter trailed 26-23 at halftime but gave up 36 points in the third quarter as it fell to Notre Dame.
Kevin Hart was the leading scorer for Dexter with 13 points while Logan Carwile added 12 points in the loss. Ryan Willen was the leading scorer for Notre Dame with 21 points and Ty Williams hit four 3-pointers on his way to 16 points.
