GOLF
Cape Central 170, Sikeston 172
SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Bulldogs golf team fell by another short margin on Monday afternoon, this time to the Cape Central Tigers by a score of 170-172.
Sikeston's Dakota Trevino and Bill Green led all scorers in the match but the team as a whole came up just shy of a victory. Trevino finished with the best score of 35, one-under par, while Green shot a 39 for a three-over par.
The one-under for Trevino was just the second time he has done that in his high school career.
Joe Bowman finished with a 48 while De Bizzell shot a 50 to round out the top four for the Bulldogs.
"We've gotten better," said Sikeston head coach Andy McGill. "Our first dual meet we shot a 183, the second a 178 and then this one a 172. At the same time we should've done a little better."
Up next for the Bulldogs is the last home dual match, on Wednesday afternoon against Notre Dame. The match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
Sikeston will then compete in the Poplar Bluff Tournament on Monday.
