DEXTER -- The Oran Eagles improved to 7-1 on the season as they defeated the Dexter Bearcats 7-5.
Steven Dooley got the win for the Eagles allowing three earned runs on five hits and two walks. He also struck out nine batters in five innings of work. Kody Campbell picked up the save.
Tyler Scott received the loss allowing six runs on four hits, four walks and four strikeouts for the Bearcats.
Oran got the scoring underway in the second inning plating four runs and again in the third inning with two more runs to go up 6-0.
Dexter came right back in the bottom of the fourth inning with four runs of their own to cut the lead to two.
Oran scored one more in the fifth while Dexter added one more in the sixth.
Jayden Pobst led the Eagles with three hits and three RBI. Tyler Beardslee had one hit and one RBI to help out the Eagles.
Mason Noe had two hits and one RBI, while Garrett McKuin had one hit and two RBI.
The Eagles will host the Advance Hornets, while Dexter will play the Jackson Indians. Both games are today at 4 p.m.

PATTON -- The New Madrid County Central Lady Eagles won two games on Tuesday afternoon against the Meadow Heights Panthers by scores of 4-3 and 21-0.
In the first game of the double-header, Brittany Masterson picked up the win, going six innings, giving up three runs on five hits and six walks, while striking out 10.
Whitney Tanner, Shelby Lawrence, Kelly Robey and Masterson each picked up two hits in the contest. Tanner, Lawrence and Robey each recorded one double apiece.
In the second game, NMCC won in three innings 21-0, behind Robey's pitching as she completed the three-inning nohitter.
Robey struck out seven and hit one batter in the victory.
Lawrence led the way at the plate, picking up four hits, while Sonni Carlisle and Robey each recorded three hits in the Lady Eagle win. Robey had a triple, while Lawrence had a double.
NMCC is now 7-1 on the season and will play at Portageville on Thursday at 4 p.m.
