A first-team all-state selection in Class 3 for the second straight year, Woodgeard led the Bears to a 22-5 record and state quarterfinal appearance.

Her most impressive single performance may have been the 41-point outing that sank Portageville in a battle of state-ranked teams in the sectional round. She also had 11 rebounds and was 10-for-12 from the free throw line in the final period.

"She's just a player, she played really well," Greenville coach Diane Meyer told the Sikeston Standard Democrat after the game. "She got hit on a lot of the shots she took up in the air and still converted them, which that's the way it's going to be and you got to expect that.

Woodgeard, a finalist for the B.A. Sports top senior honor and MVP of its all-star game, averaged 22.4 points and 14 rebounds per game.

"She is just very versatile " Meyer said. "She is not real big and strong but is quick and explosive. Pushing and pulling up and shooting jump shots is pretty automatic."

She will attend Three Rivers next year.
