Leet made a case for honors as the Most Valuable Player in the SEMO Conference against Notre Dame alone. The senior led Jackson to a 20-8 season that included a share of the conference title with Sikeston (Jackson won the head-to-head meeting) and a Class 5 District 1 championship.

Leet lifted the Indians to two wins against rival and Class 4 state champion Notre Dame. He scored 31 points in a 61-53 decision in the championship game of the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament, and then beat the Bulldogs in early January with a game-winning shot that capped a 27-point effort in a 65-63 win.

His 17-footer with 8 seconds to go made the difference. "I was supposed to make a good decision, either kick it out or shoot it," Leet said. "I just thought it was there. … It felt awesome."

To continue his hot stretch, Leet poured in 32 -- including 14 in the fourth period -- as Jackson held off host Poplar Bluff 69-64.

Leet will play next year at Columbia College, an NAIA school.
