Niemczyk fell short of the Class 1 final four for the first time in his career, but he was a force for the district champion Cubs.

Niemczyk, headed for Three Rivers next year, averaged more than 29 points per game for his senior season and surpassed the career 2,000-point mark.

He showed off his sharp-shooting by winning the 3-point contest at the B.A. Sports All-Star Extravaganza.

Niemczyk this season was named the Stoddard County Player of the Year, and he earned Class 1 all-state honors from the Missouri Association of Basketball Coaches and the Missouri Sportscasters and Sports writers Association.

While the Cubs went two-and-out at the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament, Niemczyk hit the most memorable shot of the tourney, over the backboard as he fell out of bounds.
