The Sikeston-Charleston football series began 100 years ago in 1908, and the teams met again on Thanksgiving Day in 1910.

Sikeston was 3-0 in that span (Charleston did not field a team in 1909).

On Friday night, festivities preceding the 7 p.m. game will mark the anniversary of the series.

The teams come into this Friday's game each at 0-1, with Charleston falling to Kennett and Sikeston bowing to Fredericktown in Week 1 games.

Actually Charleston program started in 1907 and hasn't missed a year of playing football yet. In 1909 the Bluejays were coached by A.D. Simpson they went 0-1.
