Logan Morris was dominant from start to finish Monday afternoon, as he allowed no hits in a 10-0 win over Twin Rivers.
"Logan has had a really dominating fall," Clearwater coach Joe McCallister said. "He has had really good command. Right now, he is doing all the things I'm asking him to do, pitching well and getting ahead in the count, using his breaking ball at the right time."
The Royals were impressed by Morris all game.
"He was dynamite," Twin Rivers coach Denver Stuckey said. "He was throwing hard and had a good curveball going, he overmatched our hitters."
John Stevenson pitched for Twin Rivers (4-6, 2-1 OFC) and gave up five earned runs over five innings.
"Johnny pitched very well the first three innings and even the fourth," Stuckey said. "The score was not really indicative of how he pitched. Once one bad thing happened, it kind of snowballed from there."
Jordan Devenport and Andrew D'Amico each had two RBIs in the Tigers (8-1, 2-0) win. Clearwater was also aided by four Royals errors.
"I'm not faulting our kids for lack of effort," Stuckey said. "We are just struggling throwing the ball accurately. If you give a team like Clearwater more than three outs in an inning, they are going to pile it on pretty quick and that is what they did."
