By DAR STAFF

VAN BUREN -- The Clearwater Lady Tigers scored a dozen runs in the sixth inning and held on for a 15-14 win Tuesday over Van Buren.

It was Clearwater's first win of the season.

"We showed a lot of heart by not quitting," Clearwater coach Shannon England said.

Clearwater was down 10-3 heading into the sixth before plating 12 runs. Lydia Wymore led the Lady Tigers with five RBIs while Paige Radford, Brittaney Long and Alex Green each had two RBIs.

"We just fed off each other in the sixth inning," England said. "It seemed like everyone was getting a hit."

Kara Miller got the win on the mound for Clearwater in relief of Lydia Wymore. Alex Green got the save as she pitched the last two outs of the game.

BASEBALL

Campbell 15, South Pemiscot 1: Cale Weeks had six RBIs including a three-run home run as the Camels won.

Zack Jackson added three hits and five RBIs behind Dylan Lynn on the mound for the Camels. Lynn threw five innings and allowed one run and three hits while striking out four.

Neelyville 17, Clarkton 5: The Tigers scored all of their runs in the first two innings Tuesday.

Dustin Spencer led the Tigers with three RBIs and Garrett Griffin was also 3-for-5 with two RBIs.

"We didn't swing the bats well on Monday and wanted to work on getting the barrel on the ball and hitting it hard," Neelyville coach Justin Dobbins said. "They made a couple errors and we had a couple big hits."

Austin Russom threw three innings for the Tigers and struck out seven before Garrett Griffin closed the game out with the last two frames.

Jordan Jones led Clarkton offensively with two RBIs while Will Thorton and Justin Brown each added one.

The Reindeer (0-10) need to be positive on the field, Clarkton coach Scott Blackburn said.

"We have moments where we make really good plays," Blackburn said. "If we make an error or something, everyone tightens up and we make three or four."

Doniphan 18, East Carter 5: Daniel Newman had three RBIs as the Dons moved past the Redbirds.

The Dons (3-6, 1-2) have won two in a row now.

"It takes three for a streak and we've got Neelyville here tomorrow," Doniphan coach Jason Rose said.

Zack Swindle, Jordan Casteel and Matt Crews each added two RBIs.

"We are starting to hit the ball a little bit," Rose said.

Andrew Michel got the start and pitched two innings and Jordan Casteel pitched the last three innings and earned the win, striking out four.

Kyle Young and Josh Louis each pitched two innings for East Carter the loss.

The Redbirds (2-6, 1-2) are young and need to sure up their gloves, coach Brock Crowley said.

"Errors are what is killing us," Crowley said. "We are just booting it around too much."
