ST. LOUIS -- The Three Rivers Lady Raiders took care of business on the road in a big manner Saturday afternoon as they trounced the Forest Park Lady Highlanders, 91-51.
The Lady Raiders had five players in double-figures in the game, led by Chelsey Johnson and Brittany Peet with 13 points apiece. Sara Woodgeard added 12 points, while Fareedah Washington netted 11, and Meredith Medlin chipped in 10.
"We kind of got off to a slow start," Lady Raiders coach Jeff Walk said. "For the first 4, 5 minutes each team struggled."
Three Rivers got the offense rolling, however, as the Lady Raiders mounted a 44-26 lead at halftime and scored 47 more in the second half to get its third win of the season.
"Defensivley, they did a very good job," Walk added. "They got a lot of pressure on the ball and forced some bad passes."
The Lady Raiders outrebounded the Lady Highlanders, 37-32. Woodgeard and Morgan Davis each had a team-high six rebounds. The Lady Highlanders were held to just 36 percent from the field (15-for-42) and turned over the ball 36 times
The Lady Higlanders got a doubledouble out of Antania Williams who had a game-high 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Three Rivers returns to action Monday night at North Arkansas.
