VAN BUREN -- A small halftime lead didn't lead to a win for the Van Buren Bulldogs as they dropped a 76-64 decision to Liberty on Friday at the Current River Challenge.

Liberty outscored the Bulldogs 46-32 in the second half to rally to the win.

The Eagles had four players in double figures on the night including Derek Daniels who had a game-high 23 points. Riley Young added 19 points while James Chambers had 12 points.

Van Buren was led by Tyler Freeze who had a team-high 20 points including two 3s. Freshman Cody Rector added 11 points for the Bulldogs.

Winona 36, Greenville 25

The Wildcats took an early first quarter lead and rolled to victory Friday against the Bears in the Van Buren Current River Challenge.

Each team led two quarters apiece on the game, but Winona's 14-7 advantage in the first quarter and a 13-1 run in the third quarter did the Bears in.

Greenville was led by Dylan Rhoden who hit two 3s and had a team-high eight points.

Austin Fisher had a game-high 12 points and had two 3s as well.

Eminence 82, Clarkton 47

The Red Wings firestormed Clarkton as five of their six players on the night scored in double figures.

The Reindeer kept it close as they trailed by just three points after the first quarter, but Emience's offense sparked from there. Eminence was led by Nathan Nichols and Austin Brewer who had 16 points each while Blake Radesvich and Wade Conway had 15 points each. For Clarkton, senior Dustin Ferguson had a strong game with 18 points. Ferguson was 11-for-13 from the free throw line. Jacob Redden added eight points including a 3-pointer and was 3-for-3 from the line.
