McClellan was Southeast Missouri's top runner with a first-place finish in the SEMO Conference meet and the best time of any area runner at the state meet. His time of 16 minutes, 40 seconds placed ninth in the Class 3 boys meet. He was top 10 in every race this year, winning at the SEMO Conference meet and the Farmington Invitational after opening the season by topping his class at the Jackson Invitational.

He opened the year by running up in the senior division at Jackson and beat the 2.5-mile course record by 3 seconds, beating the mark set in 2005 by Poplar Bluff's John-Mark Lewis. He had top-10 finishes at Hancock, Notre Dame, Potosi before being runner-up at the SEMO Confernce meet.

Gibson was the top local runner in the Class 4 race in the state meet with a time of 16:59. He was the only area runner besides McClellan to break 17 minutes at state. He won his division at the Forest Park Festival and was the runner-up in the Class 4 district meet.

A three-time all-stater, Davis fell short in his bid to make it four in a row by placing 29th in the Class 3 boys division at the state meet. But he helped Notre Dame place second in the meet, marking a career of four top-four team finishes (including a Class 2 state title in his freshman year). His top-10 runs in the SEMO meet and at the district helped Notre Dame capture titles in those meets.

Klaffer was a state medalist for the third straight year with his clutch 13th-place finish in the state meet. He ran the best time on his team for the third straight year at the Notre Dame Invitational.

The youngest member of the squad, Leighton reached the state meet for the first time and placed 53rd with the sixth-best local time at the event. He started the year by winning his sophomore division race that the Jackson Invitational, then had top-10 finishes at the Cape Central Invitational, the SEMO Conference meet and the Class 4 district meet.

I seen where the 3A class size for track has expanded to 1200+ Just when I thought Sikeston may grow out of 3A they raise the number. This makes it really tough for 3A schools with 500 kids. We need another class, 5A all the way! Will this ever happen???
