Central, senior

She won almost everything in site this season, at least locally. Schabbing won the SEMO Conference meet and had the top local time in every event she ran. During the regular season, she finished behind only Class 3 state champion Alyssa Allison at the Forest Park Festival. She won the title at the prestigious Hancock Invitational, improving on last year's runner-up time by 33 seconds. She led the Tigers to a third-place finish in the Class 4 state meet with a school-record time on the course.

Central, sophomore

Dohogne emerged as one of the area's most consistent runners with top-10 finishes in every run leading up to the state meet, including four second-place finishes. She jumped from 41st in the state last year to 22nd this season. She won her class race at Jackson for the second straight year.

Second only to Allison by 27 seconds at Potosi.

Moreland settled into her role as a team leader and complementary runner with six top-10 finishes, including top-five finishes to key Central's important district and sectional championships to qualify for the state meet. Moreland was knocked off the by her teammate Schabbing as the SEMO Conference champion but still managed a second-place finish for her best showing of the season.

In her second season, Blalock had to step up to Class 4 and finished 32nd (she was 10th in Clas 3 last year in 19:02). She ran up in the senior division at Jackson and finished second, and she had a run of top-five showings at Notre Dame, Potosi, the SEMO Conference and the district meet. Her second-place finish at Potosi came sandwiched between two state champions as she was 33 seconds behind Festus' Alyssa Allison, the Class 3 state champ, and ahead of Class 2 state champ Eileen Schweiss of Herculaneum.

She was a key player on Central's softball team and then jumped over to run with her sister and help the Tigers reach the state meet. She had two top-10 finishes, including the SEMO Conference, and was Central's No. 4 runner throughout the state series.

An all-state runner for the second straight year, Johnson had seven top-10 finishes -- including the SEMO Conference and the district meet. She won her Kelly Invitational title by holding off contenders from state-qualifying Dexter and picked up the Farmington title late in the season.

The Indians' leading runner for much of the season, Parry paced her team with a fifth-place showing at the SEMO Conference meet. She earned her first state meet berth.
