Southeast Missouri State football punter Reynolds tabbed as OVC Specialist of the Week

Southeast Missouri State punter Jake Reynolds was announced Sunday as the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week.

It's the redshirt freshman's first conference honor.

Reynolds averaged 45.9 yards per punt in a 31-3 Homecoming win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday at Houck Field.

In addition, the Wildwood, Missouri, native sailed one of his punts 78 yards, making it the longest punt in the OVC this season and fourth-longest punt in school history.

Reynolds currently ranks 29th in the country at 41.5 yards per punt.

Eastern Illinois running back Isaiah Johnson took two OVC weekly awards -- Offensive and Newcomer -- while Jacksonville State defensive end Darius Jackson was the Defensive Player of the Week.
