After one year of retirement from coach, Notre Dame athletic director Jeff Graviett will be enshrined among fellow area legends in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

The luncheon will take place at the Drury Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Cape Girardeau at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 17, as announced on Monday, July 29, by Missouri Sports Hall of Fame CEO & Executive Director Byron Shive. It marks the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame’s first induction ceremony in Southeast Missouri since 2016.

“We are excited to celebrate so many great sports stories from southeast Missouri,” said Shive, who took over the Hall of Fame’s leadership role in August 2022. “We have honored a number of folks from this part of the state, but we want to be there more regularly. After all, there are so many people and teams in sports from Southeast Missouri who have made an incredible difference as athletes and coaches. We hope the community will join us in making their day special.”

Graviett has spent 27 years coaching at Notre Dame. He led the baseball team to 11 district championships, and two state titles and made five final four appearances. He also led the softball team to 17 district championships, nine final four appearances, and a state title in 2009.

Joining Graviett in the Class of 2024 are a trio of Southeast Missouri State alums. Former big-leaguer Kerry Robinson and SEMO track and field legend Christine Ridenour Boothby, and Otto Porter, Sr., who played for the basketball team and had a son in the NBA, will also have their names locally immortalized.

Other local inductees include Bill Zoll (Bernie High School volleyball coach), Jack Connell (Golf), Suzanne Beth Scott (Paralympian Swimmer), the 1994-1999 Bernie volleyball era and the Charleston High School boys' basketball program.
