BREAKING: Kennett School District Opens Hiring for Head Football Coach
KENNETT, Mo. - Kennett School District filed for three new hiring positions on Thursday morning.
One of the opening positions was in search of a head football coach for the high school.
Assistant Superintendent Nathan Baker was the informant and person of contact for this opening.
“We are currently in the process of hiring a new head football coach at Kennett High School for the 2025-2026 school year,” Baker said.
The search for a new football coach follows the conclusion of Kennett's winless 2024 campaign. The Indians went 0-10 this season, five of which were complete shutouts, to produce the worst record on paper in Kennett history.
Kennett approached this season with one of its youngest rosters of the past decade, hosting only six seniors on their roster compared to 16 freshmen.
The new hire will replace Andrew Webster, who served as Kennett’s head coach for the past four seasons.
Webster began at Kennett as an assistant coach in 2016. He was part of a coaching staff leading Kennett to two back-to-back district titles in 2018 and 2019. The Indians have posted seven winning seasons during his time on staff before going 4-6 in 2023.
As the school district searches for a new head coach, the applicant must also have a Missouri teaching license.
