Young Advance catcher providing bright spot in long spring season (4/9/24)There hasn’t been an overwhelming amount of positivity surrounding the Advance High School varsity baseball season this spring, as the (very) young Hornes have labored to a 2-8 mark, and Tuesday’s outing against Bloomfield was no different. The Wildcats took advantage of seven Advance defensive mistakes and earned a 13-4 win, which was the team’s fourth consecutive victory. However, if Advance can feel good about anything this season, thus far, it certainly can be the play of sophomore catcher Jameson Hamlin.

Bloomfield BB resurgence being led by Upchurch (3/21/24)BLOOMFIELD – While it is true that the Bloomfield High School baseball squad got rocked 15-0 by the No. 2-ranked team in Class 1 (Oran) on Tuesday, that doesn’t take away from the potential that the Wildcats have shown over the past eight months.

Risco remains unbeaten by holding off late charge from Bloomfield (3/19/24)BLOOMFIELD – Veteran Risco High School coach Brandon Blankenship has coached the Tigers through 16 fall and spring baseball seasons and 22 basketball seasons, so he has seen, and had to endure, every type of scenario possible in sports. On Monday, that experience came in handy, as Blankenship had to utilize four pitchers, and his team overcame four errors, to survive 6-5 against a pesky Bloomfield squad at Bloomfield High School.

However, on the other hand, if Bloomfield can get past Woodland (9-4) on Friday in Bloomfield, which will be no easy task, the seventh win will be the program’s most since the 2017-18 season.
