Southeast Missouri State's Paul McRoberts, a wide receiver on the football team, joined the Southeast basketball team as a walk-on Friday, according to a university press release.
McRoberts, a sophomore, played basketball at Soldan High School in St. Louis and scored 18 points in Soldan's Class 4 state championship win in 2012.
McRoberts played 12 games for the Southeast football team and started 10. He had a team-high 44 catches for 646 yards and scored nine touchdowns this season.
He will travel with the Redhawks to Memphis when they take on No. 15 Memphis at 7 p.m. Saturday.
