Southeast's Tellor earns All-American honor
Southeast Missouri State senior first baseman Matt Tellor was named a second-team Louisville Slugger All-American by Collegiate Baseball and BaseballNews.com on Thursday.
Tellor, the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, hit .386 this season and .431 in conference games to help the Redhawks to the OVC regular-season title for the first time since 2002.
His 15 home runs ranked fifth nationally. He was third nationally in RBIs per game with 1.25, fifth with 153 total bases, seventh in slugging at .657, and his 90 hits ranked 10th.
Tellor had 71 RBIs during his senior campaign, which broke a single-season record that stood since 1995.
Tennessee Tech's Daniel Miles and Brandon Thomasson were named first-team Louisville Slugger All-Americans while Tech's Dylan Bosheers joined Tellor on the second team.
