Redburn completes Southeast softball coaching staff
Southeast Missouri State softball coach Mark Redburn hired two assistants to complete his staff, the athletic department announced Wednesday.
Kerry Shaw and Stephanie Winter will be the first-year coach's assistants.
"Overall, both of these coaches help secure what I want to provide for our current and future players," Redburn said in a news release. "Kerry and Stephanie are good people that work hard and know how to win. I want the players at Southeast to know that, as a staff, we have the coaching and playing success to help them be the best they can be on and off the field."
Shaw, who was the softball and baseball coach at Odessa High School in Odessa, Missouri, will work with infielders and hitters.
Shaw was a member of the USA Men's Fastpitch team for two years and was in the San Francisco Giants minor league system from 1988-91.
He was an assistant baseball coach at Missouri Western State College from 1992-93.
Winter served as an assistant coach at Saint Louis University the past two years and will work with the outfielders and serve as Southeast's recruiting coordinator.
Winter played softball at the University of Michigan and was a member of the 2005 national championship team. During her four seasons, the Wolverines won four Big 10 conference titles, competed in three super regionals, four NCAA regionals and made it to the 2004 Women's College World Series.
She served as a student assistant at Michigan in 2008 before becoming an assistant at Northern Iowa in 2009. She was an assistant at Upper Iowa for two seasons before SLU.
