KICKOFF -- We'll update with the game time from this point on.
11:12 1Q - Southeast goes three-and-out with a penalty then gives up just one big play to Kansas on its first possession. But that 39-yard run was enough to get the Jayhawks in field goal range and they just made a 43-yard attempt. 3-0 Kansas.
9:45 1Q - Southeast with another three-and-out. Three-yard run then a couple strange plays. Paul McRoberts didn't seem to be looking for a pass on second down (not sure he would have caught it) then Kyle Snyder was intercepted on a deflected pass. Kansas scores a TD on it's ensuing possession to take a 10-0 lead early on.
4:06 1Q - Kansas adds to its lead with another TD after and 81-yard drive following a Southeast punt. Three penalties for Southeast so far. No first downs.
:04 1Q - Kansas' 66-yard drive ends with a 10-yard touchdown reception with four seconds remaining in the first quarter. -- Erin
End of first The Jayhawks lead Southeast 24-0 after the first quarter. Southeast will have it on its own 43 to start the second quarter. -- Erin
5:10 2Q - The Southeast defense has forced a punt on back-to-back Kansas drives. The offense got its first first down but no more. We'll see if the Redhawks can put a drive together before half.
End of first half: Kansas 24, Southeast 0 - The Redhawks and Jayhawks played a scoreless second quarter. Southeast had four first downs in the second quarter after being held without one in the first, and it forced the Jayhawks to punt on consecutive drives.
Paul McRoberts completed a reverse pass to Peter Lloyd for a 28-yard gain with about a minute remaining. McRoberts appeared to be injured on the play, but walked off the field under his own power.
Kyle Snyder had a pass intended for Ron Coleman in the end zone picked off by Dexter McDonald with 26 seconds remaining in the half. McDonald returned it 62 yards.
10:34 3Q - Southeast got on the board with a 7-yard touchdown run by DeMichael Jackson.
10:17 3Q - The Redhawks attempted an onside kick but an offsides penalty resulted in a re-kick. KU returned the ball to its own 33 and then scored on a 67-yard reception. The PAT gave the Jayhawks a 31-7 lead.
End of third - Kansas kicked a 33-yard field goal in the final seconds of the third quarter to take a 34-7 lead over the Redhawks into the final 15 minutes.
12:53 4Q - Snyder completed a 37-yard pass to Spencer Davis in the end zone to cut the deficit to 34-14.
10:39 4Q - McRoberts caught a pass from Snyder at the Kansas 30-yard line and ran it in for a 68-yard reception. Southeast trims Kansas' lead to 34-21.
1:33 4Q - McRoberts with a 26-yard touchdown reception in the back of the end zone to pull Southeast within 34-28 of Kansas.
Final - Southeast loses 34-28. We're heading to the press conferences and will have stories up later. Thanks for following.
