Southeast football loses third straight, falls to Eastern Kentucky 33-21

The Redhawks fell to 4-5 and 2-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 33-21 loss to Eastern Kentucky on Saturday in Richmond, Kentucky.

Halftime: Eastern Kentucky 20, Southeast 14
The Southeast Missouri State football team trails No. 18/19 Eastern Kentucky 20-14 at halftime at Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Colonels blocked a punt by Alex Knight and EKU's Jeff Glover returned it 22 yards for the first score of the game with 7 minutes, 18 seconds left in the first.
Southeast tied it up on the next drive, using nine plays to move the ball 75 yards. Redhawks quarterback Kyle Snyder capped the drive with a 3-yard touchdown run to tie it at 7 with 2:55 to go in the opening period.
EKU running back Dy'Shawn Mobley, who has 46 yards rushing on 11 carries in the first half, scored with 32 seconds left in the first on 1-yard run on fourth down to make it 14-7.
Mobley made it 20-7 with 10:39 to go in the half on a 9-yard run.
Snyder cut the deficit to 20-14 with a 4-yard run with six minutes left in the half.
The Redhawks' leading tackler Roper Garrett was helped off the field with an injury on EKU's next drive. He was on crutches at halftime.
EKU drove to the Southeast 49 in the final minute of the half and Southeast running back DeMichael Jackson intercepted EKU quarterback Jared McClain's pass at the goal line. The Redhawks lateraled the ball twice but were downed at the EKU 33 to end the half.
Jackson leads Southeast with 78 rushing yards on 16 carries while Snyder had 45 yards on nine carries.
Snyder completed 11 of 16 passes for 128 yards. Peter Lloyd lead all receivers with four catches for 31 yards.
The Southeast Missouri State football team will try to snap a two-game losing streak on the road at No. 18/19 Eastern Kentucky today.
The Colonels (6-1, 3-1 OVC) are coming off their first loss of the season after being outscored 29-0 in the fourth quarter against Tennessee Tech in a 39-31 loss on Saturday.
The Redhawks (4-4, 2-2 OVC) are coming off a 52-13 loss to two-time defending Ohio Valley Conference champion Eastern Illinois.
