Game updates: Jacksonville State football defeats Southeast 49-30

No. 3 Jacksonville State went undefeated in its Ohio Valley Conference championship season with a 49-30 defeat of Southeast Missouri State on Saturday at Houck Stadium.
The Redhawks finish the season with a 5-7 record and 3-5 in the OVC.

Halftime: Jacksonville State 28, Southeast 10
The Ohio Valley Conference champion Jacksonville State Gamecocks lead Southeast Missouri State 28-10 at halftime.
It took the Gamecocks just 2 minutes, 54 seconds to move down the field on the opening drive and score on a 14-yard run by DaMarcus James.
JSU went up 14-0 less than two minutes later when quarterback Eli Jenkins connected with a wide-open Bo Brummel, who ran it in for a 58-yard score.
Southeast quarterback Kyle Snyder was picked off on the second play of the next drive and JSU eventually scored on a 30-yard pass to Ruben Gonzalez with 7:28 to play in the first.
Southeast got on the board with 2:39 left in the quarter on a 14-yard pass to Paul McRoberts in the end zone to make it 21-7, which was the score at the end of the quarter.
JSU answered with a touchdown with 11:39 to play in the half. James took the direct snap and ran it in 1-yard to make it 28-7.
The Redhawks moved to the Gamecocks' 7-yard line on the next drive, but stalled, and Ryan McCrum made a 25-yard field goal with 7:55 left in the half to make it 28-10.
The Southeast Missouri State football team saved the best for last.
The Redhawks (5-6, 3-4 Ohio Valley Conference) host nationally-ranked and conference champion Jackonsville State in the regular season finale today at Houck Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Twenty seniors will be recognized prior to the game, including Southeast quarterback Kyle Snyder.
The Gamecocks enter the game with a 9-1 record and are 7-0 in conference.
They've won nine in a row, including a 27-20 win over two-time defending OVC champion Eastern Illinois to clinch the championship and a spot in the FCS playoffs.
