Four Southeast football players earn all-conference honors
Southeast Missouri State had four football players receive all-Ohio Valley Conference recognition.
Junior receiver Paul McRoberts was a first-team offense selection and sophomore kicker Ryan McCrum was a first-team specialist.
Junior running back DeMichael Jackson was a second-team offense selection and senior cornerback Tim Hamm-Bey was second-team defense.
The OVC announced the all-confereence selections, which are voted on by the conference's head football coaches and sports information directors, on Tuesday.
McRoberts finished the season with 44 catches for 711 yards and nine touchdowns even though he missed five games with a fractured foot he suffered in the Redhawks' upset of then-No. 3 Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 20.
McCrum made a Southeast single-season record 18 field goals during his sophomore campaign. He made four field goals longer than 50 yards and also made 40 of 41 PATs, missing only the final one of the season.
Jackson, who missed four games with a broken hand, was Southeast's leading rusher and averaged 5.4 yards per carry and 91.8 yards per game. He had five rushing and two receiving touchdowns this season.
Hamm-Bey's four blocked kicks this season ranked third in the country. He led the Redhawks with 10 pass breakups and finished with 46 tackles and two interceptions.
Eastern Kentucky running back Dy'Shawn Mobley was named the offensive Player of the Year.
OVC Champion Jacksonville State claimed the other three major awards: defensive tackle Devaunte Sigler was defensive Player of the Year, offensive tackle Justin Lea was Freshman of the Year and John Grass was the OVC Roy Kidd Coach of the Year.
