Report: Ball State assistant to be named Southeast women's basketball coach
According to a report from swishappeal.com, Ball State associate head coach Rekha Patterson will be named Southeast Missouri State's women's basketball coach tomorrow.
Southeast announced earlier today that there will be a press conference regarding the women's basketball program at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Show Me Center. More details on that can be found here.
Patterson has been the associate head coach at Ball State for the past two seasons. Patterson helped guide the Cardinals to the Mid-American Conference tournament championship game and a berth in the Women's National Invitational Tournament during her first season there. The Cardinals returned to the WNIT last season.
Prior to Ball State, she was on Kim Mulkey's staff at Baylor. She served as the coordinator of basketball operations for three seasons before being promoted to an assistant coach.
The Bears were 74-2 during that time, including a 40-0 season en route to the 2012 NCAA National Championship.
Patterson, who played at North Carolina A&T, also had coaching stints at Creighton and Eastern Illinois of the Ohio Valley Conference.
According to the report, Alabama's Shereka Wright was a finalist for the position.
