Updated: Southeast football spring game, baseball series opener modified
The Southeast Missouri State football team's spring game is now scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday night at Houck Stadium while the baseball team's series opener against Jacksonville State has been moved to 5 p.m. Friday night at Capaha Field.
The Redhawks spring game is open to the public and Southeast's free youth clinic is still scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Houck Stadium. The clinic, open to kids in first through eighth grade, will be moved indoors at the Student Recreation Center-North if inclement weather continues and shuttles from the stadium to the recreation center would be provided for participating kids.
There will be a free tailgate with food and drinks provided by Kohlfeld Distributing and the Bank of Missouri at the Redhawks baseball game Friday night.
Game 2 against the defending OVC tournament champion Gamecocks is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday with the finale set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
Sunday's game will feature Bark in the Park sponsored by Mississippi Mutts and the Furry Kid Klubhouse. Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs and there will be dog treat samples provided. Hot dogs will be sold with proceeds going to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
Sunday's game will also be Rowdy's Kids Club Day. Members are encouraged to wear their Kids Club T-shirt. They will be able to stand alongside the Southeast baseball players on the field for the National Anthem, run the bases after the game and participate in a postgame autograph session with the Redhawks as well as have a chance to win a free membership for next year.
