SEMO baseball team's season ends with loss to Louisiana Tech
The third-seeded Louisiana Tech baseball team powered its way to a 9-4 victory over fourth-seeded Southeast Missouri State Saturday afternoon in Starkville, Mississippi.
The Redhawks were eliminated from the NCAA Regional and their season ended with a record of 39-21.
The Bulldogs (41-19) hit three home runs in the game, including a grand slam by Cody Daigle in a sixth-run fourth inning.
Southeast jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first on a three-run home run by Dan Holst, but wouldn't score again until Trevor Ezell drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth.
Louisiana Tech cut it to 3-1 after one and 3-2 after three innings. Brent Diaz tied it up with a leadoff home run in the sixth and the go-ahead run scored on a bunt single by Bryce Stark before Daigle's homer.
Chandler Hall hit a solo home run in the fifth for the Bulldogs' final run.
