Gameday blog: Tennessee Tech at Southeast
The Southeast Missouri State football team dominated the first half of play, as senior quarterback Jesse Hosket threw for 105 yards and two touchdowns to give the Redhawks a 17-3 lead at halftime against Tennessee Tech in Saturday's Homecoming game at Houck Field.
Hosket was 11-of-18 passing and threw a pair of first-quarter TDs. He connected with tight end Eric Williams on a 9-yard scoring strike with 9 minutes, 27 seconds left in the first quarter before finding wide receiver Trevon Billington on a 4-yard TD pass at the 8:17 mark. Both TDs came on third-and-goal.
Kicker Nicholas Litang knocked through a 22-yard field goal with 7 seconds left in the quarter, giving Southeast a 17-0 lead.
The second quarter was quiet from both sides. Kicker Nick Madonia's 37-yard field goal with 2:07 left in the half accounted for the only points of the quarter.
The Redhawks forced a pair of turnovers in the half. Linebacker Zach Hall stripped TTU quarterback Adam Browner deep in Golden Eagles territory, as defensive lineman Bryson Donnell recovered the fumble to set up the Redhawks' second TD.
Redhawks safety Omar Pierre-Louis intercepted a pass by Browner during the second quarter.
SEMO's Kristian Wilkerson had five receptions for 52 yards at the break, while Williams had three catches for 28 yards. Running back Marquis Terry racked up 31 yards on 10 rushes for Southeast.
TTU managed only 76 total yards of offense in the opening half. RB Andrew Goldsmith had 47 yards on 10 carries.
