Ellington’s lack of mistakes and its ability to capitalize on Alton’s carried it to the MSHSAA Class 2 District 2 Tournament championship with a 4-0 win.
Ellington scored its first two runs on passed balls. Both times, the runner at third base read the play perfectly and took off to cross the plate standing up.
