The Missouri State High School Activities Association has announced who each basketball program should prepare itself to do battle with come playoff time.

The district alignments have been announced and a number of programs locally are now ready to prepare for the journey ahead and whom they would have to compete against with hopes of achieving postseason glory.

Poplar Bluff’s teams were assigned to Class 6 District 1 along with Fox, Jackson, Kirkwood, Lindbergh, Oakville and Seckman on the boys side, while the girls swap out Kirkwood for Cor Jesu Academy.

Class 4 District 1 will be the home to both the Dexter and Doniphan boys and girls teams, along with Fredericktown, Kennett and Perryville. Saxony Lutheran will feature on the girls side while Notre Dame will reside among the other boys programs.

The Twin Rivers and Malden programs will join Malden, New Madrid County Central, Portageville and Senath-Hornersville in Class 3 District 1, with East Prairie added to the boys mix.

Clearwater will see both its teams compete in Class 3 District 3.

Then things get a little murkier.

Class 2 District 1 girls will be composed of Bloomfield, Campbell, Hayti, Holcomb, Neelyville and South Pemiscot, while the boys will drop Bloomfield and add Hayti and Cooter.

Then move to Class 2 District 2 and we find East Carter, Ellington and Van Buren boys and girls along with Cabool, Summersville and Winona.

Bloomfield’s boys will settle in to Class 2 District 3 with Alton, Greenville, Puxico, Meadow Heights, Oak Ridge and Oran as the girls will showcase Advance in place of Alton, drop Bloomfield and add St. Vincent.

Finally, Class 1 District 1 boys will consist of Clarkton and Naylor along with Delta, Gideon, North Pemiscot, Risco and Southland, while the girls will see Clarkton replaced by Couch and Koshkonong, Oak Ridge, Scott County Central, keep Southland and drop Risco and Gideon.
