MOBERLY — The Three Rivers College women's basketball team got out to an early lead and steadily built it up throughout the game to take a 76-50 road win over the Moberly Lady Greyhounds Saturday evening at Fitzsimmons-John Arena.
With the win, the Lady Raiders improve to 24-2 on the season and 9-0 in Region XVI play.
Three Rivers led 20-14 after the opening period, then extended its lead to 34-23 by halftime. TRC led 56-38 by the start of the fourth quarter.
The Lady Raiders held a 41-30 edge on the boards over Moberly and also limited the Lady Greyhounds to just 1-for-8 shooting behind the 3-point line and 37% shooting from the field (21-for-57).
Laylah Reese had one of her best games of the season on Saturday, leading Three Rivers with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jasmine Davis added 14 points off the bench, while fellow reserve Bramyia Johnson added 13, Lexi Weaver had 10, Brittany Wells contributed seven and Courtney Bluitt finished with six.
Johnson also had eight rebounds, while Kamille Brown added seven. Wells dished off five assists and had a pair of steals, while Brown led the team with three steals. Yannie Flemings also had two steals.
Calise Chisholm paced Moberly with 15 points, while Jeannie Scott added 10 and the duo of Angel Dickerson and Victoria Escribano each had nine. Dickerson, Escribano and Chisholm each had two steals, while Abigail Martinez-Cora blocked two shots.
The Lady Raiders are back in action Monday when they host Crowder in another Region XVI contest. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. at the Libla Family Sports Complex.
