SENATH – Senath-Hornersville faced Delta C-7 for the third time this season Thursday night in Senath. Having already won out against the Chargers in both the Bulldog Classic and Campbell Christmas Tournament, the Lions knew what to expect and capitalized on where to exploit weaknesses from Delta C-7.

Although Senath-Hornersville started out slowly, falling behind early 6-0, the Lions finished the first quarter outscoring Delta C-7 15-6 in the last four minutes. In the second quarter the Lions outscored their opponent 21-11, finishing the first half leading by 13 points, 36-23, by playing better defense with fewer turnovers and better shot selections.

Delta C-7, after trailing 56-31 after three quarters, got within 11 points with six minutes to go in the game. However, Senath-Hornersville's dual threat of Mason Williams and Amador Luna got several inside scoring moves to fall, and Senath-Hornersville prevailed 78-55.

The Lions improved their record to 8-9. Delta C-7 fell to 4-12 on the season. Amador Luna led all scoring with 29 points. Delta C-7 next travels to Southland for the Rebels' homecoming Friday night. Senath-Hornerville begins play in the Bootheel Conference Tournament, in which the Lions are seeded No. 6 Saturday against No. 3 Portageville.
