Andy Sawyers won his 200th career victory as Southeast Missouri State head baseball coach as the Redhawks (19-18) paced the Racers of Murray State 15-8 in Murray, Ky.

Caleb Corbin led the Redhawks with three hits, two home runs, and four RBIs. The Redhawks have hit 61 home runs as a team, which is good for second in the Ohio Valley Conference.

SEMO took a 4-0 lead at the top of the third inning highlighted by an RBI single by Chance Resetich and a two-run double by Nolan Ackerman.

After Murray State struck back with a pair of three-run homers in the bottom of the third inning, the Redhawks scored a run on an error in the fourth inning and tied the game 6-6 in the sixth with Corbin’s first home run of the game.

The Redhawks piled on in the sixth inning with eight runs highlighted by Keoni Coloma’s three-run double. Corbin hit twice in the same inning and drove in runs each time.

Corbin hit his second home run in the eighth inning to give the Redhawks their 15th run of the game and extra run insurance going into the final inning.

Payton Lawrence started the bullpen day with two hitless innings but it was Colin Wilma who got the win with his three-inning, one-run, and four-strikeout performance in relief.

The road for 200 more wins for Sawyers’ Redhawks begins at Tennessee Tech this Friday-Sunday, April 19-21.
