Bean and Rebstock leads Kennett-Holcomb tennis to 8-1 victory over Saxony Lutheran

JACKSON, Mo. - The Kennett-Holcomb tennis crew faced off against Saxony Lutheran on Wednesday, Sep. 25.

They walked away from this road competition with an 8-1 victory over the Crusaders to extend their record to 12-0-1.

Claire Bean and Olivia Rebstock had the best day for Kennett-Holcomb’s tennis team. They both went 8-0 in their singles competition. Bean, along with her partner Handley McAtee, also took first in their doubles match against Saxony Lutheran’s Abigail Haley and Margaret Hillin.

The other two Kennett-Holcomb double pairings also won their matches. Rebstock and her partner Emory Kamper won 8-4 over Hannah Pruett and Sadie Elmore from Saxony Lutheran.

Jady Quinn and Lydia Teeter finished off the doubles round with an 8-4 victory over the Crusader’s Ekaterina Rust and Emiliana Keller.

To follow her doubles victory with Bean, McAtee also went on to win 8-1 in her singles match over Hillin from Saxony Lutheran while Kamper beat Elmore 8-1 as well.

Rust from Saxony picked up the first win for the Crusaders in her singles match, but Teeter secured the teams 8-1 victory with a singles win over Keller.

As the team is approaching the end of their regular season, they will host the SEMO Conference Tournament on Friday, Sep. 26 before returning to regular play.

The Conference Tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Kennett tennis courts.

Then they will travel to play at Dexter on Monday, Sep. 30 before hosting Poplar Bluff on Tuesday, Oct. 1 for their senior night.
